  • Patent number: 8465269
Abstract: The invention pertains to a dry vacuum pump comprising at least one rotating shaft (11) mounted on at least one lubricated bearing (5) and at least one sealing device (9) for sealing off lubricating fluids capable of entering the shaft passage from said bearing (5), said sealing device (9) being installed between the lubricated bearing (5) and a dry pumping stage (7), characterized in that said sealing device (9) comprises a centrifuge element (17) designed to rotate in unison on said shaft (11) and comprising at least one through line (19) capable of separating the lubricating fluids from the fluid that may travel from said bearing (5) to the dry pumping stage (7).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 16, 2008
Date of Patent: June 18, 2013
    Assignee: Alcatel Lucent

  • Patent number: 6705842
Abstract: According to the invention, discharge noise from rotary vacuum machines having complementary profiles is attenuated by interposing between the discharge from the primary pump and the outlet to the atmosphere, a transfer device having independent cavities, e.g. cavities on a rotor rotated on a shaft, the cavities moving sequentially from the discharge to the outlet while simultaneously providing isolation between the discharge and the outlet. This achieves dynamic attenuation of the noise in a manner that is particularly simple and low cost, while also being very effective in suppressing discharge noise.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 10, 2002
Date of Patent: March 16, 2004
    Assignee: Alcatel
    Inventor: Albert Cacard
  • Patent number: 6644942
Abstract: The invention concerns a pumping unit wherein the vacuum pump (100) is driven by a motor (3, 4) comprised in a common monobloc housing forming motor housing (5) and oil pan (18) containing a gear assembly (17) for coupling two parallel pump rotors (14). To complement the sealing conditions provided by a dynamic seal (6), the motor stator (4) consists of an electric coil embedded in an oil-tight and gas-tight resin, thereby not requiring other more expensive and bulky sealing means, reducing production cost and enhancing the pumping unit dependability.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 15, 2002
Date of Patent: November 11, 2003
    Assignee: Alcatel

  • Patent number: 5312466
Abstract: The present invention relates to a pumping installation for pumping out an enclosure containing gases which are mixed with solid particles or which generate solid condensates or particles, said installation including a pump equipped with a feed system for supplying an inert purge gas, the pump having its exhaust orifice connected to an evacuation duct, wherein said evacuation duct is connected to said exhaust orifice via a static particle-separator device whose driving flow is solely the exhaust flow of the pump.
