  • Patent number: 5303666
Abstract: A submersible marine vehicle, operable both upon and beneath water, includes a fluid-tight hull elongated along a longitudinal axis corresponding to an intended direction of travel of the vehicle, the hull having integral gripping elements and velocity controls proximal to each of the gripping elements, the hull further including internally energy storage elements for power control and transfer within an air space in the hull, the air space also defining a buoyancy characteristic of the vehicle, the hull and the hand gripping elements defining a total longitudinal dimension co-linearly to the longitudinal axis of the hull. The vehicle also includes a single circumferentially integral propeller shroud depending integrally downwardly from a lower surface of the hull along an axis transverse to the axis of the hull.

  • Patent number: 4630391
Abstract: A rodent trap having a pair of closure surfaces having a large ratio of surface area with reference to size of the rodent to be trapped. The closure surfaces are integrally joined by a flexible hinge defining a thin bending hinge between the first and second closure areas. The hinge operates to create an angulation relative to the floor of the first and second closure surfaces. The hinge is bridged by elastic bands which, in the absence of any pressure on the closure surfaces, maintains the closure surfaces at an angle relative to the floor. The application of the weight of a rodent at or near the hinge will press the hinge toward the floor thereby destabilizing the elastic bands and bringing about a rapid snap-like closure of the closure surfaces, completely enclosing and trapping the rodent.

  • Patent number: 4219884
Abstract: Electromechanical apparatus producing random ultrasonic noise is disclosed for killing insects. A number of coils are provided, each having primary and secondary windings which are wrapped around a metal core. The windings are electrically interconnected to each other and to a power source. The current through the windings is controlled by a number of digital signals having random pulses and random intervals between pulses. The random pulses rapidly turn the current through the windings on and off. This causes the metal cores to vibrate extremely randomly thereby producing random noise.
