  • Patent number: 11745000
Abstract: A device and method for selectively applying a composition a treatment surface (e.g., skin) to impart an aesthetically pleasing appearance to the surface. The device may include a detector for obtaining image data corresponding to an image of an area of skin. The device may also include an applicator for selectively applying a fixed amount of the composition to the skin to a location within the area of skin as determined by the device. The fixed amount is selected to reduce the artifact magnitude by a predetermined coverage level when applied to the skin. The device may include a processing arrangement for receiving image data from the detector, determining an artifact magnitude of the location based on the image data, comparing the artifact magnitude to a threshold, and directing the applicator to apply the composition to the skin when the artifact magnitude is above the threshold.

  • Publication number: 20220193381
Abstract: A device and method for selectively applying a composition to a treatment surface (e.g., skin) to alter an aesthetic appearance of the skin. The device includes a detector obtaining image data corresponding to an image of an area of skin and an applicator applying the composition to the skin. The applicator is aligned to apply the composition to a location within the imaged area of skin. The device analyzes the image data and selectively applies the composition to the location when a reflectance value of the area of skin is (i) less than a reflectance value of the selected tone, and (ii) greater than a reflectance value of the location. The reflectance value of the selected tone is generated based on image data corresponding to a region of skin adjacent to the area of skin.

  • Publication number: 20220032025
Abstract: A device and method for selectively applying a composition to a treatment surface (e.g., skin) to alter an aesthetic appearance of the skin in the undereye region of the face. The device includes an applicator applying the composition to the skin, and a detector obtaining image data corresponding to an image of an area of skin. The device generates a target reflectance value based on the image data and past image data. The target reflectance value is higher than reflectance of at least half of areas corresponding to the image data and past image data. The device determines a desired level of reflectance modification for a location within the area of skin imaged by comparing image data corresponding to reflectance of the location to the target reflectance value, and directs the applicator to selectively apply the composition to the location based on the desired level of reflectance modification.

  • Publication number: 20210402208
Abstract: A device and method for treating a skin condition is provided. The device may include an applicator arrangement applying a composition to skin. The composition comprising an active ingredient for treating the skin condition and a tracer. The device may also include a detector arrangement obtaining image data corresponding to an image of an area of skin. The device may further include a processing arrangement analyzing the image data to determine whether an artifact corresponding to the skin condition is detected at a location within the imaged area of the skin and to determine an amount of the tracer detected from the location, the processing arrangement directing the applicator arrangement to apply the composition to the location when the artifact is detected and the amount of the tracer is less than a predetermined threshold level.

  • Patent number: 11090474
Abstract: A device and a method are for application of a composition to a treatment surface (e.g., skin). The device may include an optical emitter projecting fiducials to skin; a detector obtaining image data corresponding to an image of an area of skin marked with the fiducials; an applicator applying the composition to a location within the skin area; and a processing arrangement. The processing arrangement is receiving the image data, analyzing the image data to determine a morphology of the skin area based on the fiducials captured within the image, identifying, based on the morphology, a region within the image corresponding to the location aimed by the applicator arrangement, analyzing the image data to determine whether the identified region corresponds to a skin artifact, and directing the applicator arrangement to selectively apply the composition to the location when the skin artifact is detected from the identified region.

  • Publication number: 20200167983
Abstract: A method for guiding a user to manually apply cosmetics by overlaying graphical indicators on a real-time image of the user, the method including receiving a real-time image of the area of skin. Generating a registration layer containing a mapping between features of the real-time image and a graphical model of the area of skin. Presenting, for display to a user, a control layer overlaid on the real-time image according to the registration layer, the control layer including at least one indicator of a location on the area of skin where a reflectance modifying agent (RMA) should be applied. Determining, based on the real-time image, that the RMA has been applied to the location on the area of skin. • Patent number: 10165197
Abstract: A system for digitizing an image from an optical substrate having at least a first defect comprises a digital image capture device, a first light source positioned at a first position relative to the digital image capture device, and a second light source positioned at a second position relative to the digital image capture device. The second position is offset with respect to the first position. Light emitted from the first and second light sources are combined at a light receiving portion of the digital image capture device for causing the first defect to be nullified from a composite digital representation of the image that is generated using information outputted from the digital image capture device.

  • Patent number: 9990702
Abstract: Implementations disclosed herein (e.g., systems, methods, and computer-readable program products) provide a high definition range “UHD” compatible version of classic image content (e.g., as-released motion pictures) that was created in an era of limited dynamic range and that maintains aesthetic characterization defined by “Director's Intent” of the classic image content. Such implementations advantageously use clues to the Director's Intent found in the classic image content to make intelligent estimations as to what a Director (or other image content editing professional) was attempting to achieve in the classic image content relative to a corresponding original image content (e.g., as-shot image content). The original image content holds original imagery details that have been altered or omitted during creation of corresponding classic image content. The classic image content exhibits attributes that reflect the Director's Intent such as, for example color, contrast, vignetting, saturation, and the like.
