    Abstract: A saw chain assembly which requires a minimum of independently moving elements is disclosed in which the assembly includes a plurality of cutter links interconnected in the form of a chain by linking members. Each cutter link preferably comprises a unitary gear and cutting element. Each linking member comprises two substantially parallel side walls which are integrally connected by a bridge wall so as to form a channel between the side walls. The ends of adjacent links are disposed in the channel and hingedly connected to the side walls.
