  • Patent number: 6334629
Abstract: A height adjuster adapted to remain latched during a side-on collision includes a guide rail having a U-shaped cross section, an adjusting part displaceable in the guide rail, an arresting mechanism for the adjusting part moveable in a longitudinal direction, a blocking part, for arresting the adjusting part and penetrating latch openings of the guide rail and an elastic member which biases the blocking part into the latch openings of the guide rail.

  • Patent number: 5908205
Abstract: A position adjustment device for a direction reversing guide for vehicle safety belts includes a guide rail, a displacement element with an arresting mechanism, advancing member, replacement member and possibly displacement levers. This height-adjustment device is suitable for high stresses and at the same time can be simply and inexpensively produced. The guide rail (1) essentially has a C-shaped cross section, the adjustment element (12, 12') is guided along end strips (3) of the guide rail (1), and a detent element (19), which is taken along by the adjustment element (12, 12') extends through recesses (6, 18) in the guide rail (1) and the displacement element (12, 12'). A metal spring (21, 32), which forces the detent element (19) into the recesses (6, 18), is provided for maintaining the arrested position at the adjustment element (12, 12'), and a position restoring spring for the position adjustment device is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5168740
Abstract: Drawn bores similar to a sleeve and provided with an inner thread are used as a substitute for nuts. The starting materials are flat sheet-metal blanks. In the course of step-by-step deformation with shaping tools, the wall thickness of the drawn bores decreases, compared to the starting material. This is true in particular with increased height of the drawn bores and sheet-metal blanks with larger surfaces. Accordingly, the invention is intended to recite a method according to which it becomes possible to produce high drawn bores, having a wall thickness comparable to the thickness of the original material, from sheet-metal blanks with large surfaces for highly stressed screw connections. This object is attained by means of a changed sequence of the step-by-step operation. Flat pressing of the sheet-metal piece is only performed after partial inward crimping has been started.

  • Patent number: 5044666
Abstract: A device for the incremental positioning or height adjustment of an attachment or deflection point for a safety belt includes a guide bar, an adjustment element and a spring element. In accordance with the invention, it is intended to employ a leaf spring as the spring element, which extends over the length and width of the adjustment element and which is, together with the adjustment element, combined into a module clamped to the guide bar. The leaf spring assists in locking, supporting and guiding of the adjustment element.

  • Patent number: 4818023
Abstract: The device consists of a guide strip (1) and a guide sleeve (2) movable along the guide strip (1), said sleeve being if possible, composed of a top section (2a) having a wide side at the front and a bottom section (2b) having a wide side at the rear, and of a spring strip, preferably in the form of a wide leaf spring (8). On the rear broad side of the guide sleeve (2) recesses or engagement lugs (7) are provided, whereas along the axis (3) of the guide strip (1) or symmetrically thereto, corresponding engagement lugs or recesses (4) are arranged. The engagement lugs (7) and recesses (4) mentioned enter into mutual engagement from the rear of the guide strip (1) as soon as they are in register by moving of the guide sleeve (2) on the guide strip (1). They are secured in this locking position by the leaf spring (8).
