  • Patent number: 4252598
Abstract: An apparatus for automatically bonding or laminating a transparent protective cover sheet to the image-bearing surface of a photograph, preferably of the type prepared by a diffusion transfer process. The cover sheet includes a layer of fluid activatable bonding agent on one side thereof. The apparatus is configured to advance a photograph past a fluid treating station where its image-bearing surface is washed and wetted with activating fluid and simultaneously advance a cover sheet from one end of a stack to feed the photograph and cover sheet between a pair of pressure rollers which bring the photograph and cover sheet into superposition to effect the bond therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4172003
Abstract: Apparatus for cutting a portion of a visible image from a film unit and mounting the same in a frame or slide holder of the type adapted to be received by a slide projector. The apparatus includes a female die upon which the film unit is supported and an elongate member having one end pivotally connected to a fixed support and its opposite end constructed to pivotally receive a male die thereby enabling the male die to self-align itself within the female die as the elongate member is rotated about its pivotal connection to the fixed support during the cutting or severing operation. A manually operative film advancing apparatus is provided for engaging an edge of the severed portion of the film unit and moving it into a chamber containing a plurality of open-ended slide mounts. As the severed portion is advanced into the chamber, its leading edge enters one of the mounts via its open end.

  • Patent number: 4093696
Abstract: A method for making a self-retracting imbibition chamber by cutting a sheet, folding the sides into flanges, fluting the flanges followed by coiling and curing the material into a spring-like state.

  • Patent number: 4072968
Abstract: A compact, self-retracting imbibition chamber for cameras in which the film is ejected just after exposure and passed through processing units which distribute processing fluid throughout the film unit. The apparatus includes a normally tightly coiled imbibition chamber which receives the sheet ejected from the processing rolls and retains it in a light-protected condition until it is sufficiently processed to allow it to be exposed to the light.

  • Patent number: 3994004
Abstract: Apparatus for interfacing a battery powered photographic camera with a battery containing film cassette is disclosed. When the cassette is interfaced with the camera, electrical contacts in the camera engage the terminals of the cassette battery through access ports in the cassette housing. These access ports are provided with removable battery terminal masks to prevent accidental completion of an electrical circuit. The camera is equipped with enclosure means for receiving the cassette and with means associated therewith for removing the battery terminal masks so as to expose the terminals which can then engage the camera contacts for completion of an electrical circuit.
