  • Patent number: 4390294
Abstract: A ribbon machine which is capable of feeding ribbon to the inlet or feed opening of a ribbon cassette is improved by providing the ribbon machine with a support surface having a ribbon pathway thereon and at least two cassette adapters, each one of which can be positioned at one of a plurality of adapter positions on the support surface. The cassette adapters each are capable of holding at least one type of a variety of types of ribbon cassettes. Each of the adapter positions on the support surface includes a member capable of driving either an internal or external sprocket wheel or other drive wheel which feeds the ribbon into the cassette and a cassette adapter holding member which holds the cassette adapter at a particular adapter position. Each of the cassette adapters is constructed to include the capability of allowing the drive member at each of the adapter positions to interact with the cassette to feed the ribbon into the cassette.

  • Patent number: 4011830
Abstract: The subject matter of this specification pertains to improvements intended to be utilized in a ribbon inking machine having a frame, a drum mounted on the frame, a carriage movably mounted on the frame so as to be capable of being used with respect to the drum, a ribbon feed roller mounted on the carriage, a ribbon inking structure mounted on the carriage, and a ribbon takeup roller mounted on the frame. Such a machine is preferably constructed to include a pressing element mounted on guide rods so as to be capable of being moved towards and away from the drum. Solenoids are used to control the tension on bands mounted on the pressing element and passing around the guide rods. When they are tightened they hold the pressing element relative to the guide rods. A mechanical mechanism provided for raising and lowering the pressing element is located on the guide rods.

  • Patent number: 3941150
Abstract: A flow control structure which is primarily intended to be utilized as a pressure compensating emitter in agricultural watering or irrigation can be constructed utilizing a housing having a flow control member located therein. The housing employed has an internal cylinder connected by a passage leading to a valve seat. The flow control member extends from the cylinder to adjacent to the valve seat. The extremity of the flow control member within the cylinder is formed as a piston so that the flow control member may be moved by fluid pressure. A channel means connects this first extremity of the flow control member with the interior of the passage at a point which is adjacent to and spaced from the other extremity of the flow control member. This other extremity is shaped so as to cooperate with the valve seat in order to limit flow between this other extremity and the valve seat in accordance with the position of the flow control member.
