  • Patent number: 8160002
Abstract: Embodiments describe reducing interference in a wireless communication network, including an ad hoc network. According to an embodiment, a method for reducing interference includes receiving a data packet and determining a channel quality level of the received data packet. The method further includes calculating a number of groups to divide the data packet into based on the channel quality level and determining a slot position within each group. The positioning of an acknowledgment channel within each group can be optimized to reduce the amount of overhead channels or to provide time to decode a traffic channel.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 2, 2007
Date of Patent: April 17, 2012
