  • Patent number: 4671933
Abstract: A method for inhibiting corrosion of metal surfaces which comprises exposing the metal surfaces to an aminosilicon compound which is capable of hydrolyzing and releasing a volatile amine in the presence of atmospheric moisture.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 8, 1986
Date of Patent: June 9, 1987
    Assignee: Stauffer-Wacker Silicones Corporation
Inventors: Guenther F. Lengnick, Albert J. Sanders, Jr., William J. Swatos
  • Patent number: 4615738
Abstract: Transparent silicone compositions for treating nonporous substrates to impart antifog properties thereto comprising an aqueous solution containing hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane, an aliphatic alcohol and a surfactant.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 7, 1985
Date of Patent: October 7, 1986
    Assignee: Stauffer Wacker Silicones Corporation
Inventors: Albert J. Sanders, Jr., Michael J. Larson
  • Patent number: 4509981
Abstract: Coating compositions comprising an aqueous emulsion of (1) a mixture of silicone fluids consisting of (a) an aminofunctional silicone fluid and (b) an organopolysiloxane fluid, (2) nonionic emulsifying agents and (3) an ultraviolet radiation absorbing agent.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 13, 1983
Date of Patent: April 9, 1985
    Assignee: SWS Silicones Corporation
Inventors: Albert J. Sanders, Jr., Michael J. Larson
  • Patent number: 4247330
Abstract: An aqueous emulsion containing (1) a mixture of silicone compounds consisting of (a) an aminofunctional silicone fluid and (b) a cyclic siloxane, (2) an aliphatic alcohol having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, (3) sufficient carboxylic acid to neutralize the aminofunctional group and (4) cationic emulsifying agents, if desired. These aqueous emulsions are storage stable and are suitable for dispensing in automatic car washes to impart a detergent resistant protective coating on hard surfaces.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 20, 1979
Date of Patent: January 27, 1981
    Assignee: SWS Silicones Corporation
    Inventor: Albert J. Sanders, Jr.
  • Patent number: 4246029
Abstract: An improved detergent resistant vinyl coating composition containing an aqueous emulsion of (1) a mixture of silicone fluids consisting of (a) an aminofunctional silicone fluid and (b) an organopolysiloxane fluid and (2) a mixture of surface-active agents. The resultant composition has good shelf stability and when applied to vinyl surfaces, produces a high gloss coating which is resistant to detergents and environmental elements.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 27, 1979
Date of Patent: January 20, 1981
    Assignee: SWS Silicones Corporation
