Abstract: A water-resistant wire coil includes a coated wire with a conductor and a covering. The covering is prepared from a composition that includes a poly(arylene ether), a polyolefin, and a hydrogenated block copolymer. The wire coil is useful for the fabrication of wire windings for the rotors and/or stators of water-resistant motors. The covering of the coated wire is thinner than a conventional poly(vinyl chloride) covering. This allows more conductive wire to be incorporated into a rotor and/or stator, which in turn increases the power of the motor.
