  • Publication number: 20220299645
Abstract: A remote 3D measurement and visualization apparatus which comprises a borescope, comprising a shaft; a time-of-flight (TOF) depth camera having a plurality of pixels; an illumination source to emit illumination source light; wherein an illumination transmission portion of the shaft is operatively arranged to transmit the illumination source light distally along the shaft and emit the illumination source light from a distal end of the borescope to illuminate a target volume; wherein an image transmission portion of the shaft is operatively arranged to receive reflected illumination source light from the target volume and transmit the reflected illumination source light proximally along the shaft to the TOF depth camera; and wherein the TOF depth camera is operatively arranged to transmit intensity and phase data of the reflected illumination source light from the pixels to a processor and/or a computer to generate a digital, three-dimensional, spatial representation of the target volume.

  • Publication number: 20210016508
Abstract: A removal method for an object of manufacture after a powder-based additive manufacturing process. The object is made in a build box, in which powder is fused using a powder-based additive manufacturing process. A fluid is delivered into the build box, the fluid having a pressure and composition suitable for fluidizing powder not used for manufacture of the object. This results in fluidization of the powder in the build box, from which the object may easily be extracted.

  • Patent number: 10369742
Abstract: Reinforcement systems for additive manufacturing are disclosed. In some embodiments, the reinforcement systems include a print head assembly including a print head that is configured to form a plurality of layers of an additively manufactured article, and a reinforcement head. The reinforcement head may be configured to form at least one reinforcement element on or within a working layer of the plurality of layers formed by the print head. Additive manufacturing systems including such reinforcement systems and methods of additive manufacturing using those reinforcement systems are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20110025317
Abstract: The present application discloses a magnetostrictive sensor (MsS) probe for guided-wave inspection of the entire length of a fuel rod. The probe includes a waveguide adapted to be clamped to a fuel rod, and an MsS adapted to generate guided waves into the waveguide such that the guided waves propagate down the waveguide into the fuel rod and back to the waveguide for detection by the MsS.

  • Patent number: 7683611
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a device and method for pipeline inspection, The inspection device may include an exciter coil capable of providing an alternating current magnetic field and producing eddy currents. A plurality of sensors may then be provided which are capable of sensing a magnetic field produced by the eddy currents and the sensors may be engaged with a sensor shoe. The sensors may then be capable of being positioned at a first distance D1 with respect to an inner pipe wall surface and capable of providing coupling to the magnetic field produced by the eddy currents. The sensor shoe may also be capable of retracting to a second distance D2, wherein D1<D2. The sensor shoe may be connected to a sensor support arm wherein the support arm may be pivotably attached to a fixed hub and to a control arm which control arm may then be pivotably attached to a driven hub.

  • Patent number: 7459999
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a variable diameter electromagnetic coil. The coil may include a coil winding containing inner and outer winding layers. The coil may incorporate a first hub including one or a plurality of inner supports, one of the inner supports connected to a location on the inner winding layer. A second hub may then be provided including one or a plurality of outer supports, one of the outer supports connected to a location on the outer winding layer. One of the first or second hubs may be capable of rotating to cause the coil winding to wind or unwind. An interconnect hub may then be provided which may be capable of providing electrical connection to the coil winding.
