  • Patent number: 4131381
Abstract: A structure having a close-fitting opening for freely receiving a shaft is secured to the shaft, usually for rotation therewith, by attachment, as by bolting, to a securement plate that has an opening therethrough with a main shaft-receiving portion and an auxiliary portion, the latter being extended laterally from the main portion and defined by respective rectilinear rail formations which intercept the main portion of the opening and have been slid into and snugly received by respective grooves provided in diametrically opposite sides of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4093127
Abstract: Disintegrator and separator apparatus and method, having a pulverizing chamber with a rotary impeller therein for imparting acceleration to raw material received through an inlet. The impeller includes a pair of spaced apart discs having a plurality of blades connected between the discs at their outer edge, with a drive shaft connected to only one of the discs, leaving the middle of the pulverizing compartment open. A peripheral impact surface in the pulverizing chamber has a portion of its inside wall facing radially inwardly and aligned in the direction of rotation of the blades. One embodiment includes a plurality of overlapping peripheral impact blades which include an outlet passage between each pair of adjacent plates; a second embodiment includes a peripheral impact ring having outlet slots therethrough; and a third embodiment includes a peripheral impact ring having a concave inner surface, with outlet passages adjacent both sides thereof around the circumference of the ring.

  • Patent number: 3995814
Abstract: An impact disintegrator for ore and rock material includes an annular grizzly for supporting an annular array of closely associated chunks of target material, which preferably are the same as the ore or rock material to be disintegrated, and a rotary slinger disposed centrally of the grizzly for forcibly slinging pieces of the ore or rock material to be disintegrated outwardly toward and against the array of chunks supported by the grizzly. The slinger is designed to also act as a blower to force air into the disintegrator. A plurality of chutes depend from beneath the grizzly for receiving disintegrated ore or rock materials resulting from the impact of the slung pieces against the array, and means may be provided for bleeding off fines from the disintegrated material received by the chutes.
