  • Patent number: 5326513
Abstract: A process and device for the manufacture of plastic fiber boards made of balls of expanded glass, expanded clay, pumice granules, mica, or a similar material and a foamed organic binder, such as epoxy resin, PU phenol resin, or the like. The binder is mixed with the balls, foamed, and hardened in a matrix space formed between two mold plates (1, 2) positioned at a distance one from the other. In order to obtain a particularly light but stable plastic fiber board, uniformly distributed recesses opening toward the internal sides of the plates are provided to contain the mixture located between the two mold plates during compression and before hardening. The device employed to implement the process includes two mold plates (1, 2), which are brought together in a press to compact the introduced therebetween.

  • Patent number: 5069014
Abstract: The holding means serves for securing facade panels of stone, ceramic glass, metal sheet or the like, and has at least one screw element projecting transversely from the panel rear side and having a screw thread. To permit a simple accurate assembly as free from joint gaps as possible a support plate attachable by adhesion to the panel rear side is provided in the form of a lightweight component of expanded glass, expanded clay, polystyrene, polyurethane foam material, expanded slate, vermiculite, pressed glass fibres or the like, possibly with addition of binder. Said plate includes glass fabric layers which are preferably fixed to both outer sides and increase the flexural stiffness. Incorporated on one side into the support plate is a holding plate to which a screw element preferably in the form of a threaded bush and extending through the support plate is fixed.

  • Patent number: 4606160
Abstract: A plaster backing panel structure for a ventilated curtain wall system comprises rectangular light-weight wood fiber panels for mounting on a framework attached to a vertical building wall with a ventilation space of predetermined width behind the panels, wherein the panels are provided with complimentary angle members adjacent respective longitudinal edges thereof. The angle members include rearwardly extending webs of interengaging hook-shaped form whereby adjacent panels are attached together by male and female connections formed by inserting the angle member web adjacent an edge of one channel into a complimentary angle section web at the edge of an adjacent panel. The panels are also provided with butt plates on their transverse edges and angle members forming corner or foundation closures.
