Publication number: 20240045844Abstract: A method for classifying data using non-negative matrix factorization can include receiving a population of sample data, generating a first matrix of the amplicon counts per sample data, dividing the first matrix into a product of a second matrix and a third matrix, in the second matrix, determining whether each signature is a long or short fragment per each amplicon count, in the third matrix, determining intensities of each signature per the sample data, and classifying the sample data based on the intensities of each signature. The population can include amplicon counts per sample data. The second matrix can include signatures of short and long DNA fragments and the third matrix can include intensities of each signature of the short and long DNA fragments.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2021Publication date: February 8, 2024Inventors: Christopher Douville, Haley Grant, Albert Kuo, Kamel Lahouel, Kenneth W. Patent number: 9105112Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to power management within an integrated circuit. In one embodiment, a display buffer receives image data through a data transfer interconnect. A data transfer interconnect is powered down based on the received image data being greater than a threshold amount of data. The display buffer transmits at least a portion of the image data to one or more outputs, and in response to the transmitting, the data transfer interconnect is powered up. In some embodiments, the display buffer includes a plurality of line buffers, each configured to store a respective image source line. In such an embodiment, a display pipe configured to render images to be displayed includes the display buffer, and the powering down is performed in response to the received image data including two or more image source lines.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2013Date of Patent: August 11, 2015Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Peter Holland, Hao Chen, Albert Kuo

Patent number: 9015217Abstract: In an embodiment, hardware implementing a transcendental or other non-linear function is based on a series expansion of the function. For example, a Taylor series expansion may be used as the basis. One or more of the initial terms of the Taylor series may be used, and may be implemented in hardware. In some embodiments, modifications to the Taylor series expansion may be used to increase the accuracy of the result. In one embodiment, a variety of bit widths for the function operands may be acceptable for use in a given implementation. A methodology for building a library of series-approximated components for use in integrated circuit design is provided which synthesizes the acceptable implementations and tests the results for accuracy. A smallest (area-wise) implementation which produces a desired level of accuracy may be selected as the library element.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2012Date of Patent: April 21, 2015Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Vaughn T. Arnold, Brijesh Tripathi, Albert Kuo

Patent number: 8713213Abstract: A partial HDMI physical layer (“phy”) decoder core is used in an audiovisual (A/V) sink device to perform HDCP pre-authentication on inactive HDMI ports, so as to enable fast switching between HDMI ports. Whenever a source device is connected to the any HDMI port of the A/V sink device, HDCP authentication is performed on that port immediately, even if A/V data on that port is not being output to a user. As a result, when the user switches between HDMI channels, the output is available to the user instantly, without any HDCP-related delay. The A/V sink includes the partial HDMI phy decoder core in addition to a full HDMI phy decoder core. The full HDMI phy decoder core is used to extract and decode signals received on the active port. The partial HDMI phy decoder core is used to extract and decode only those HDMI signals received on an inactive port that are needed for pre-authenticating the inactive port.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2011Date of Patent: April 29, 2014Assignee: CSR Technology, Inc.Inventors: Cenk Yildiz, Albert Kuo, Andrew Popplewell
