Abstract: Systems and methods for improving read failure tolerance during read-modify-write operations of data storage systems accommodating a host that uses a logical sector of a size smaller than the physical sector size of the data storage system. In one embodiment, the data storage system can perform sector indirection in response to a read error during a read-modify-write command.

Abstract: A plumbing valve comprising a first cylinder having a first cylinder longitudinal axis, a plurality of second cylinders each of which has a second cylinder longitudinal axis and each of which defines a second cylinder opening, and a plurality of pipe fittings each of which is disposed in one of the plurality of second cylinder openings. The first cylinder and the plurality of second cylinders are adapted to be in fluid communication, and each of the plurality of pipe fittings is adapted to removably retain a pipe. A method for removing and installing a plumbing valve comprising providing a plumbing valve, removing a pipe from each of the plurality of pipe fittings in the plurality of second cylinder openings of the plumbing valve, and inserting a pipe into each of the plurality of pipe fittings in the plurality of second cylinder openings of the plumbing valve.

Abstract: A display system useful as a head-up display for vehicles, such as aircraft, automobiles, trucks, etc., includes a fluorescent material that can be carried on a support. The head-up display system further includes a projection assembly having an electromagnetic radiation source. The projection assembly is configured to direct electromagnetic radiation of one or more selected wavelengths toward the support to cause the fluorescent material to fluoresce and form an image.
