Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for providing vehicle information to a vehicle-diagnostic system (VDS) is provided. The VDS may use the vehicle information provided by the system to process vehicle diagnostic data associated with an operation of a vehicle. The system includes a network server being adapted to (i) receive from a vehicle-diagnostic system a first request for particular vehicle information; (ii) provide to an information-retrieval engine the first request; (iii) receive from the information-retrieval engine an indication as to whether the particular vehicle information has been located; (iv) receive from the information-retrieval engine the particular vehicle information; and (v) provide to the vehicle-diagnostic system the particular vehicle information.
