  • Patent number: 10520561
Abstract: A system for hyperpolarizing a substance is provided. The system includes a cryostat, a polarizer, and a shuttle. The cryostat is operative to generate radicals within the substance by exposing the substance to electromagnetic radiation. The polarizer is operative to hyperpolarize the substance via the radicals, and to quench the radicals within the substance by adjusting a temperature of the substance after the substance has been hyperpolarized. The shuttle is operative to transport the substance while maintaining hyperpolarization of the substance.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 27, 2017
Date of Patent: December 31, 2019
Assignees: GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY, MEMORIAL SLOAN KETTERING CANCER CENTER
Inventors: Arnaud Comment, Albert P. Chen, Kayvan Rahimi Keshari

  • Patent number: 8035381
Abstract: A computer implemented method for designing a spectral-spatial pulse for exciting at least one passband and minimally exciting at least one stopband is provided. A uniform shaped spectral envelope is generated. For a plurality of kz?0, kz dependent weights for a spectral envelope that approximate a kz=0 envelope and provides the at least one passband and the at least one stopband for each of the plurality of kz?0 is generated.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 28, 2008
Date of Patent: October 11, 2011
Assignee: The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University
Inventors: Michael Lustig, Charles H. Cunningham, Albert P. Chen, Daniel B. Vigneron, John M. Pauly
