    Abstract: System for promoting spontaneous purchases of goods using prestocked lockers and proximity marketing. Locker banks having secure lockers are deployed at strategic locations near consumers. The lockers are prestocked with items available for purchase. The prestocked items are marketed to roaming consumers whose mobile devices report Global Positioning System (GPS) positions near the locker banks. When purchase commitments respecting prestocked items are received from consumers via their mobile devices, access keys to lockers where the purchased items are stocked are activated and the consumers retrieve the purchased items from the lockers using the access keys.

    Abstract: A method and system for individually targeted advertising targets advertisements played on output devices based on compatibility of the ads with the behaviorally determined personalities of mobile devices whose presence is detected near the output devices. The behaviorally determined mobile device personalities used in ad targeting reflect the preferences, interests and habits of the individuals who use the mobile devices and are exposed to the ads, yet may be determined and applied by the system transparently to these individuals. In some embodiments, the personalities are linked with unique mobile advertising identifier (MAIs) of the mobile devices transferred from the mobile devices to presence sensors associated with the output devices when the mobile devices are present near the output devices, whereafter the personalities are accessed using the MAIs and applied in ad selection.

A locker bank having multiple secure lockers is deployed at a strategic location near consumers. The locker bank is prestocked with goods available for purchase. Goods are selected for prestocking using local consumer preference data. The prestocked goods are marketed to local consumers in a marketing campaign. When a purchase commitment respecting one of the prestocked goods is received from a local consumer, an access key to a locker in the locker bank where the purchased good is stocked is provided to the local consumer and the local consumer can retrieve the purchased good from the locker using the access key.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a system in which a Web advertisement provided over the Internet to a user's computer allows the user to receive additional information on the advertised product or service over or through a communication channel specified by the user and preserves the user's anonymity. In one embodiment, the Web advertisement includes a “button” that, if actuated, causes a request for further information to be transmitted over the Internet to an intermediary computer system. The intermediary computer system then processes the request to produce a revised request that is forwarded to an advertiser computer system and is tagged so that the reply from the advertiser computer system can be associated with the user. The reply that the intermediary computer system receives from the advertiser computer system is matched with the user and a revised reply is produced that is communicated to the user or a device associated with the user via the communication channel designated by the user.
