  • Patent number: 4807137
Abstract: An arrangement for the generation of a trigger pulse for the ignition of an internal combustion engine. Crankshaft angle pulses representative of the rotational angle of the crankshaft are generated. The technical problem is an increase of the correction possibilities by the storage of all setting values for the ignition characteristic field and of the operating data for the internal combustion engine in the correction value memory. A speed-dependent temperature correction of every single trigger pulse is desired. Between the angle address counter and the correction value memory a hold circuit is inserted. For the angle address signal of the angle address counter a decoder is provided which delivers control signals upon occurence of certain angle addresses. An A/D converter is provided for the conversion of analog pressure and temperature values.

  • Patent number: 4794900
Abstract: An ignition system for an internal combustion engine with the following structure: a pulse generator generates synchronously with the crankshaft rotation angle pulses and one reference pulse; within a first angle interval of the crankshaft rotation, for the determination of a speed value, clock pulses are counted and a load value is converted into a multiple-bit value; accordingly a characteristic field storage is sampled; an ignition counter is preset, which delivers, by the counting of angle pulses, a switching pulse for the ignition signal; the speed value and the load value are stored at the end of the time basis in buffers; the characteristic field storage comprises multiple-bit ignition values for the determination of the ignition angle and for the presetting of the ignition counter.

  • Patent number: 4768485
Abstract: A mixture control for an internal combustion engine with a lambda probe and with a memory device containing nominal values for the fuel supply dependent on operational values of the engine, as load, rotational speed and temperature. The mixture control renders it possible to optimize the consumption and/or emission, under consideration of the operating conditions, in the entire moving range of an internal combustion engine. The memory device comprises address positions selectable by the operating values of the internal combustion engine and also by the actual lambda value, and stores nominal values for the fuel supply in the form of a map for a characteristic field. The probe voltage and the internal resistance of the lambda probe are determined.

  • Patent number: 4738237
Abstract: An idling control for an Otto engine comprises a throttle valve positioned in a suction pipe of an engine intake manifold; a pneumatic cylinder unit operably engaged with said throttle valve by means of a positioning leg; a three-way flow control valve in fluid communication with said pneumatic cylinder unit, said valve having respective input conduits for atmospheric pressure and vacuum, and having means for alternatively transmitting said atmospheric pressure and said vacuum to said pneumatic cylinder unit, said transmitting means including opposing coils and a pulse generator having an adjustable pulse duty factor, said coils being connected to push-pull outputs of said pulse generator, the alternative positions of said control valve being determined in accordance with said duty factor, said duty factor being applied to said opposing coils simultaneously; said three-way flow control valve further includes valve seats for said input conduits and a membrane-like, freely-movable ferromagnetic valve plate havi

  • Patent number: 4627401
Abstract: A high-velocity carburetor for an Otto engine comprising a slide for changing the cross-section of the suction pipe, a nozzle connection receiving nozzles and a profiled nozzle needle seated on the slide and controlling the cross-section of the nozzle. One object is the precise adjustment of the air admixture and thus an optimum mixture regulation as a function of the most important parameters for the operational conditions. The nozzle connection contains two nozzles, situated coaxially to one another and separated from one another by an intermediate chamber. The intermediate chamber is connected to an outlet channel of a flow control value having a ferromagnetic membrane-like valve plate. The valve plate is operable by two coils opposing each other and being connected to push-pull outputs of a pulse generator with adjustable pulse duty factor. An input channel of the flow control valve is connected with the atmospheric air via an air filter.
