  • Patent number: 8092235
Abstract: A connector assembly includes a housing and a plurality of contacts. The housing has a plurality of channels that extend between a housing mating end and an opposing back end. The housing mating end is configured to mate with a mating connector. The contacts each have a plurality of contact mating ends and a plurality of contact mounting ends. Each of the contact mating ends extends through one of the channels and is configured to provide a plurality of electrical connections with the mating connector. The contact mounting ends of each contact are arranged in a group and configured to be mounted to a circuit board. The contact mating ends are separated from one another by a first pitch and the contact mounting ends within each group are separated from one another by a second pitch that is smaller than the first pitch.

  • Patent number: 6616466
Abstract: A latch for use in an electrical connector which controls the movement of the circuit board in directions parallel and perpendicular to the path of insertion of the circuit board. The electrical connector has a dielectric housing with an elongated slot which is dimensioned to receive an edge of a circuit card therein. At least one latch receiving recess is positioned proximate an end of the elongated slot. In many applications, a latch receiving recess is provided at either end of the elongated slot. A first wall of the latch receiving recess is provided adjacent the elongated slot. The first wall has angled surfaces provided thereon. A latch is positioned in the respective latch receiving recess and is pivotally retained therein. Each latch has a pair of legs spaced from each other by a board receiving slot. The legs have a respective tapered surface which extends from a front surface of each leg to a respective side surface.

  • Patent number: 5823811
Abstract: The present invention provides an environmentally sealed electrical connector assembly including a housing (100,200) having a rigid section and a flexible section. The rigid section includes a front portion (102,202), a rear portion (104,204), a plurality of electrical terminal receiving cavities (106,206), and a passageway (107,207) disposed within the rigid section so as to be in fluid communication with various outlets positioned within the outer surfaces (120,172,272) of the rigid section. The flexible section of the housing comprises a unitary sealing member (108,208) that is fixedly adhered to either the front portion (102,202) of the rigid section, the rear portion (104,204) of the rigid section, or both. A portion (168,268) of the unitary sealing member is embedded within the rigid section of the housing (100,200).
