  • Publication number: 20130244209
Abstract: An implant analog for use in dental procedures has a plastic member which has a central bore. A metal insert which has a female thread is located in the central bore. The outer surface of the metal insert has a series of projections which lock the metal insert and the plastic body and prevent relative rotation or axial motion between the metal insert and the plastic member.

  • Publication number: 20110086327
Abstract: A UCLA castable abutment and impression taking component are combined into one unit. The shape of the plastic distal end of the UCLA abutment is fabricated so that it will have one or more undercuts as well as one or more anti-rotation features to allow it to be used while taking an impression of the abutment's relationship to the implant using the indirect transfer method. The combination of an anti-rotation and undercut feature allow the UCLA abutment to be gripped by the impression. The unit includes a bore to allow a fixation screw to fixate the unit to either an implant or implant analog.

  • Publication number: 20090239196
Abstract: A system for dental implants which includes a dental implant having a central bore, a threaded portion, an abutment having a central bore and a tapered portion, and a fastening screw. The fastening screw has a threaded portion, which engages the dental implant and a tapered head which forms a locking engagement with the tapered portion of the abutment.

  • Patent number: 6726481
Abstract: An endosseous dental implant system having an implant body and an abutment. The implant body has a tapered cylindrical surface near its top end and an internally threaded or unthreaded passage extending into the implant body through an opening at the top of the implant. The abutment has an internal passage for receiving a fastener or, alternatively has a fastener as part of the abutment. The fastener threads into the implant body so that a tapered cylindrical cavity in the abutment mates with a matching tapered cylindrical surface of the implant to form an anti-rotational and locking junction with the implant when fastened by a screw or fastener. In addition to the anti-rotational and locking junction formed by the mating of external tapered cylindrical surface and internal tapered cylindrical surface, the dental implant system may also include an implant body having a multi-sided projection. In this embodiment, the abutment has a cavity for receiving the projection.
