    Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for imaging objects in cardiovascular system are described. In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a catheter configured to traverse a blood vessel. The catheter includes: a flushing fluid inlet configured to inject a flushing fluid into the blood vessel; a flushing fluid outlet configured to evacuate the flushing fluid from the blood vessel; and an imaging module configured to image an object in the blood vessel. A first volumetric flow of the flushing fluid into the blood vessel and a second volumetric flow of the flushing fluid out of the blood vessel are synchronized to maintain a pressure in the blood vessel below a predetermined threshold.

    Abstract: Devices and systems for delivering an aerosolized reperfusion-injury-modifying drug (RIMD) to a patient are described. In an embodiment, the devices include an RIMD; an aerosolizer in fluid communication with the RIMD configured to aerosolize the RIMD to provide an RIMD aerosol; and an exit port configured to direct the RIMD aerosol for receipt by the patient. In an embodiment, the systems include a ventilator configured to generate airflow and coupled to the exit port. Methods for delivering an aerosol comprising an RIMD to a patient are also described. In an embodiment, the methods include aerosolizing an RIMD to provide an RIMD aerosol comprising RIMD droplets; and introducing the RIMD aerosol into an inhalation airflow of the patient.

    Abstract: Apparatuses and associated methods for producing energy from building or mine ventilation exhausts are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, an apparatus for extracting energy from the ventilation exhaust includes a turbine rotor having a plurality of turbine blades that are at least partially airfoils (e.g., NACA or SG60XX airfoils). A flow conditioner may be positioned to direct the exhaust air to the turbine. In some embodiments, the turbine rotor may be configured to rotate at high RPM. Accordingly, a rotating shaft of the turbine can be connected with an electrical generator without an intervening gearbox. In some embodiments, electricity produced by the electrical generator can be fed directly to the electrical wiring of the building or mine to offset energy consumption of the ventilation system.
