  • Patent number: 11285680
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for fine and controlled adjustment of an injection molding process and a related industrial process. The apparatus (1) has a sealed mold (2) supplied with fluid reactive resin via a supply inlet (8) and by means of a mixing and injection head (9) so as to impregnate with said resin fibers of composite material loaded inside a cavity (6) of the mold (2) and wherein at least one storage container (10) having an inlet/outlet opening (11) in fluid communication with an outlet (13) of said injection head (9) is provided so as to store a predefined quantity of fluid resin inside a storage chamber (16) prior to completion of the injection phase.

  • Publication number: 20170157815
Abstract: A method for continuous foaming of a panel of the type including outer layers of web material between which an intermediate layer of insulating foam is interposed, includes the steps of supplying first and second web materials, which are precursors of the outer layers, according to respective mutually converging directions to a dispensing station of reactive mixture intended for generating the intermediate layer of insulating foam. The first and second web materials are oriented according to planes that tilt mutually and converge downwards so as to bound a V-shaped hopper zone. Between the web materials, a calibrated slit is defined in the bottom of the hopper zone for dragging the reactive mixture with squeezing and distribution to the end edges of the web materials. The hopper zone is at least partially filled with the reactive mixture for simultaneously wetting the two web materials advancing downwards.

  • Patent number: 6502978
Abstract: A process and an apparatus for the production of a polyurethane mixture is described. The apparatus comprises a high-pressure mixing device provided with a mixing chamber opening onto a side of a discharge duct. An elongated cleaning member is reciprocable inside the duct and is provided with a longitudinal channel for feeding a fluidized reinforcing material, for example reinforcing fibers or a reinforcing material in powder or granulate form, to be blended with the polyurethane mixture flowing into the discharge duct. The feeding channel for the reinforcing material terminates at the front end of the cleaning member, at a point where the flow of reinforcing material impinges the polyurethane mixture which emerges from the mixing chamber under high turbulence conditions. Blowing nozzles are provided to generate air jets for repeatedly deviating the flow of blended polyurethane mixture and reinforcing material flowing out from the discharge duct.

  • Patent number: 6079867
Abstract: A high-pressure self-cleaning mixing apparatus adapted to mix at least first and second reactive polyurethane-forming components and feed the mixed components to a mold is disclosed. The apparatus includes at least a mixing chamber, first and second feed passages, first and second recycle passages, and a cleaning member having at least first and second longitudinally-extending recycle grooves spaced from each other. The cleaning member is movable between an open position in which the first feed passage radially feeds the first polyurethane-forming component to the mixing chamber and a closed position in which the first longitudinally-extending recycle groove communicates the first feed passage with the first recycle passage to recycle the first polyurethane-forming component instead of feeding the first polyurethane-forming component to the mixing chamber.
