  • Patent number: 12723183
Abstract: Hot-melt adhesives are disclosed that include, a polymeric blend of two polymers of butene-1, A) and B). Polymer A) is a copolymer of non-isotactic butene-1, having a monomodal composition, a Polydispersity Index Mw/Mn not lower than 3.5, composed by butene-1 copolymerised with one or more alpha-olefin(s) selected from ethene, propene and alpha-olefins C5 to C12. Said polymer A) has a content of copolymerised comonomer(s) not lower than 20 mol %. Polymer B) is polymeric composition of isotactic butene-1, with Polydispersity Index Mw/Mn lower than 3.5 and a bimodal composition, i.e., constituted by two butene-1 polymers, B1) and B2), being homopolymers or copolymers of butene-1 with the same other alpha-olefins mentioned for polymer A), the overall content of comonomer(s) in B) being lower than 20% by mole. Both polymers A) and B) exhibit peculiar thermal properties, like Enthalpy of Fusion, Peak Melting Temperature and Glass Transition Temperature.

  • Publication number: 20250313728
Abstract: Hot-melt adhesive including from 5% by weight to 100% by weight, of at least one copolymer, comprising butene-1 and another olefin selected from C2 to C12. The copolymer has: a Number Average Molecular Weight (Mn) greater than 3,000 g/mol; a butene-1 content not lower than 30% by weight; a Brookfield viscosity at 190° C. of 500 mPa·s to 100,000 mPa·s; a Tensile Stress at Break at 45° C. after five days of aging greater than 7 MPa; an Elongation at Break at 45° C. after five days of aging greater than 800%. Moreover the copolymer shows also peculiar thermal properties regarding its Fusion and Crystallization Enthalpies and their DSC Peak Temperatures. The disclosed hot-melt adhesive has in particular unexpectedly good resistance to Shear Stresses.

  • Publication number: 20250236769
Abstract: The present invention discloses novel hot melt adhesive formulations which exhibit an exceptionally good adhesion on fibrous substrates, both woven and non-woven ones. Furthermore the present adhesives exhibit an adhesion on said substrates which continues to be surprisingly high even when those fibrous substrates are made of very hydrophilic fibres, as cotton and other similar vegetable fibres, and even when said hydrophilic fibers, during their use e.g. inside a hygienic absorbent article, contact water and absorb large amounts of water or of other aqueous fluids, e.g. urine or blood, with an ensuing relevant swelling of the same fibres, said relevant swelling being capable of strongly weakening and even of destroying and mechanically breaking the adhesive bond, already formed under dry conditions.
