  • Publication number: 20230032288
Abstract: A return channel for a centrifugal turbo machine. The return channel includes a plurality of return channel vanes, arranged around a return channel axis. Each return channel vane includes: a leading edge at a first distance from the return channel axis, a trailing edge at a second distance from the return channel axis, the second distance being smaller than the first distance. A respective flow passage is defined between each pair of adjacently arranged return channel vanes. The return channel vanes are arranged with a non-constant pitch around the return channel axis.

  • Patent number: 10948045
Abstract: A method for stabilizing transversal oscillations of a rotor including the steps of acquiring a first signal representing a value of transversal oscillations of a rotor; estimating a value of a thermal gradient from the first signal; computing a value of an actuation parameter from the value of thermal gradient; emitting an actuation signal representing the value of the actuation parameter.

  • Patent number: 10563540
Abstract: A casing for a rotating machine includes an inner surface delimiting an inner volume for housing a rotor of the rotating machine; a first and a second shell that are joined together in a dividable manner, the first and second shell respectively comprising a first and a second split flange having a first and a second split surface contacting each other when the shells are joined together; a plurality of holes on the first and second split flange passing through the first and second split surface for housing a plurality of bolts; a first groove connecting the plurality of holes; a second groove between the first groove and the inner surface of the casing; a first duct and a second duct for circulating a fluid to and from the first and second grooves, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20150330404
Abstract: Sliding pads are installed at several convenient locations of a rotary machine comprising barrel casing, typically in the areas adjacent the external gasket on the outer diaphragm bundle periphery. The sliding pads, made of self-lubricating material, cast iron or others graphite filled materials, will be bearing the whole diaphragm bundle weight preventing any direct contact between barrel casing internal surface and diaphragm bundle external surface, both during assembly operations and also after the diaphragm bundle has reached its final location inside the barrel casing. In this way, it is possible to prevent possible damages to both diaphragm bundle and casing housing surfaces during diaphragm bundle insertion/extraction phase into/from the barrel casing.

  • Patent number: 4779071
Abstract: A system is described for transmitting a plurality of commands to peripheral means, particularly to motor-driven transport means and principally to automatic carriages on rails for the overhead conveyance of material, which provides a main station that generates and sends command signals to the peripheral means which house on-board reception and handling circuits for the command signals. The main characteristic lies in the fact that the plurality of commands is obtained through a coded signal formed from a sine wave which is sent to the peripheral means through a single conductor.
