  • Patent number: 10918733
Abstract: The present invention relates to new lipopeptide- and lipoprotein molecules and lipopeptide- and lipoprotein-conjugates. In particular, the present invention relates to new lipopeptide- and lipoprotein molecules and lipopeptide- and lipoprotein-conjugates comprising a lipid-containing moiety representing an adjuvant moiety, a peptide or protein moiety whereby said peptide or protein moiety represents at least one antigenic structure, the antigen-moiety, and, optionally, a conjugate moiety, preferably a monodisperse polyethyleneglycol unit. Said compounds are particularly useful for therapeutic or prophylactic vaccination by mucosal or systemic administration, preferably mucosal and systemic vaccination. That is, the present invention relates in another aspect to pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds according to the present invention, in particular, said pharmaceutical compositions are vaccines.

  • Patent number: 9221803
Abstract: The present invention relates to formulations of asphaltenes' inhibitor-dispersant additives based on oxazolidine derived from polyalkyl or polyalkenyl N-hydroxyalkyl succinimides. Said formulations can contain inert organic solvents, preferably including: toluene, mixtures of xylene, o-xylene, p-xylene, kerosene, turbo-fuel; or inert hydrocarbon solvents having boiling points within the range of gasoline and diesel; or inert hydrocarbon or organic solvents having a boiling point within a range from 75 to 300° C. The ratio in weight of inert organic solvents to additive that prevents and controls the precipitation and deposition of asphaltenes ranges from 1:9 to 9:1, preferably from 1:3 to 3:1.

  • Patent number: 5957839
Abstract: A tonometry catheter apparatus comprises an elongate, flexible, multilumen tube having a proximal end to be positioned outside the human body and a distal end to be positioned within a portion of the human body. Provided at the distal end are an ingress lumen through which gas may enter the tube, and an egress lumen through which gas may exit the tube. A hollow connecting member links the ingress lumen and the egress lumen to define a sampling circuit through which the gas may continuously recirculate. In one embodiment, the distal end of the tube is provided with a distensible, gas-permeable vessel in communication with the ingress and egress lumens. In an alternative embodiment, an extracorporeal gas-permeable membrane links the sampling circuit to a separate, gas-containing analyzing circuit. In each embodiment, a pump is provided for propelling gas through the circuits, and a sensor continuously quantifies the level of gas within the circuits.

  • Patent number: 5743259
Abstract: A tonometry catheter apparatus comprising an elongate flexible tube having a proximal extracorporeal end and a distal interacorporeal end. The distal end of the tube has a distensible, gas-permeable tonometry vessel, the vessel and the distal end defining therebetween a space which may be filled with a gas. An in-flow orifice lies in communication with the space, through which gas may enter the vessel. An in-flow lumen with a distal end and a proximal end is also provided, the distal end being in communication with the in-flow orifice. An out-flow orifice lies in communication with the space, through which the gas may exit the vessel. An out-flow lumen is disposed with a distal end and a proximal end, the distal end being in communication with the out-flow orifice. The proximal end of the tube has a pump for propelling gas into the vessel. A capnometer and a sensor quantify the level of carbon dioxide (CO.sub.2) gas exiting the vessel.

  • Patent number: 4812826
Abstract: A thermal sensor composed of a standard bolt which has been modified to embody a temperature sensing element and placed into a bearing assembly of a train. This element contains a heat-sensitive wax that at a preset temperature expands causing the motion of a piston which exposes projections. The projection may function as an antenna either passive (reflective) or active (transmitter) that can be probed from the wayside with very high selectivity.
