  • Publication number: 20030066593
Abstract: A method of securing an elastic band having an elastic and a meltable material film to an article includes the steps of extending the article on a workbench, positioning the elastic band on the article, activating the meltable material layer, pressing the elastic band on the article, and cutting the article along with an edge of the elastic band. The method preferably further includes the step of heat-pressing the secured elastic band. An apparatus for performing the method includes an axis, a roller mounted on the axis, a cutter having a blade, and a pipe supplying a hot air toward an area of the article on which the elastic band is positioned. The roller and the cutter are freely rotational with respect to the axis. When the article is in contact with the roller, a movement of the appratus or the article makes the roller and the cutter rotate. With this configuration, it is possible to more efficiently secure the elastic band to the article, and the cutting and the securing are performed simultaneously.

  • Publication number: 20020055317
Abstract: An elastic band or strap for use in clothing includes reflective particles sandwiched between two transparent sheets, where at least one of the sheets is a thermoplastic material. A variety of sizes of the particles may be used, and reflective threads may be used as an alternative to the particles. The two transparent sheets may be joined by heating, ultrasound, or by an adhesive. The particles may be joined to one of the sheets by an adhesive.

  • Patent number: 5873364
Abstract: A prophylactic includes a fabric layer reinforced by an inelastic weft extending in a longitudinal direction wherein the weft includes filaments woven with filaments of an elastic warp extending transversely, to allow the prophylactic to stretch without breaks and leaks.

  • Patent number: 5816249
Abstract: A procedure for the manufacturing of an improved condom features a knitted fabric adhered to the condom. The fabric is deformed in a longitudinal sense in relation to its axle, by means of a system through which the fabric, in the shape of a tube, is introduced into a cone. Two parallel conveyor bands with fastening devices are adhered to the fabric. Once the fabric is cut through in the middle of both bands, it is conveniently guided onto the condom matrixes where elastomeric rings deform and fit it tight. The whole set thus obtained is ready to be dipped into an adhesive coating and later dried after which drying, electrically heated metallic rings cut away the remainder of the fabric that failed to adhere to the condom. Thus the latter is rolled and readied for packaging.

  • Patent number: 4689861
Abstract: The present invention consists of male and female parts of plane faced segments. A male, square section stem projects perpendicularly from the plane faced segment of the male part. The stem on its free end has a widening in the shape of a hook. The female plane faced segment has a deep cavity such as a runner for inserting the male stem. The cavity extends perpendicularly into the interior of the female plane faced segment with a space congruent with the stem. The cavity has elastically deformable walls and on one of the external walls of the cavity an anchoring opening for the widened end of the male stem of the other plane faced segment.

  • Patent number: 3951141
Abstract: A contraceptive device formed of elastic material includes an extensible cap-shaped element having folds in the form of a bellows. The integral base of the element extends outwardly in the form of a planar annular flange having attached to the outer border thereof a rigid ring. The area of juncture between the cap and flange is defined by a plurality of apertures or perforations, whereby slight pressure exerted on the ring allows separation of the flange from the cap. The lower edge of the interior of the cap has applied thereto an adhesive band for adhering the cap to the glans of a male organ.
