Publication number: 20100251499Abstract: The thermal brush is used with a hair dryer. The brush includes an elongated bristle retaining core which is mounted at an interior location within a cage forward by a plurality of metal rods. The bristles extend outboard from the core beyond the rod cage and the bristles and the cage form a hourglass shape (a dual frustoconical shape with smaller radial portions adjacent each other). Sometimes, a central region with a constant radial dimension is disposed intermediate the larger radial segments of the cage and bristle brush periphery. At one end, the core and the elongated cage are maintained in a spaced apart relationship by a terminal end cap. A cap at the handle end of the brush also holds the cage and core. The spacing between the metal rods is important as the diameter of the rods.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 1, 2009Publication date: October 7, 2010Inventor: Alberto Lee Bigio

Patent number: 7448111Abstract: The hairbrush includes an elongated member having a handle segment and a bristle substrate segment. The bristle substrate defines an hourglass shaped core having a central region that is either cylindrically shaped or has a substantially similar elliptical cross-sections bounded on either side by dimensionally larger end regions. A plurality of hairbrush bristles are attached over the bristle substrate. The hairbrush bristles can have substantially equal lengths such that the outer peripheral portions of the plurality of hairbrush bristles defines an hourglass shape. Alternatively, the hairbrush bristles can have varying lengths such that the bristle ends form a planar surface or substantially cylindrical surface. Rectangular and oval shaped bristle substrates are also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2007Date of Patent: November 11, 2008Assignee: Plasticos Vandux De Colombia S.A.Inventor: Alberto Lee Bigio

Publication number: 20040088811Abstract: The hair brush includes an elongated member having a handle segment and a bristle substrate segment. The bristle substrate defines a cylindrical core having a smoothly curved, concave central region and radially larger end regions. A plurality of bristles are attached over the bristle substrate. The bristles have varying lengths such that the outer peripheral portions of the plurality of bristles define a planar surface, an arcuate segment of cylinder, or a complete cylinder. The bristles are in a predetermined pattern, on the surface of the substrate in a series or in groups of small bundles disposed on the substrate in a series. Each series is axially spaced apart in a common radial plane. A rectangular bristle substrate is also disclosed. The outer periphery of the bristles form either an arcuate segment of a cylindrical shape or a planar surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2003Publication date: May 13, 2004Inventor: Alberto Lee Bigio

Publication number: 20010001887Abstract: The hair brush includes an elongated member having a handle segment and a bristle substrate segment. The bristles are distributed throughout the bristle substrate in a predetermined pattern. The bristles are disposed over the peripheral surface of the bristle substrate in one of two manners. In one embodiment the bristles are individually disposed on the bristle substrate in a series. In another embodiment, the bristles are segmented into groups of small bundles and these bundles are disposed on the bristle substrate in a series.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2000Publication date: May 31, 2001Inventor: Alberto Lee Bigio
