In the step of reading in, an item of positional information and/or a movement vector of a rod user within the traffic space is/are read in. In the step of ascertaining, a future position of the road user within the traffic space is ascertained using the item of positional information and/or the movement vector. In the step of comparing, the future position is compared with an item of risk information. The item of risk information represents at least one dangerous area of the traffic space. In the step of supplying, a warning signal is supplied on the basis of a result of the comparison.
