Patent number: 7355523Abstract: An addressable lighting device and control system uses a user-actuable infrared or radio frequency operated remote control(s) to selectively or collectively generate an electronic address for the addressable lighting device on which the device will respond to all future signals from the remote control corresponding to that electronic address. The addressable lighting device has a programming mode for setting the address and a working mode for receiving control signals on the set address and correspondingly setting the desired intensity level of light. The addressable device may have the address set and changed locally (manually) or remotely using the remote control to switch modes, thereby avoiding the problems, expenses and mistakes associated with using dual in-line package (DIP) switches, binary, hex rotary switches, or thumbwheel switches normally used to set each one of the system's unit's unique address.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 2004Date of Patent: April 8, 2008Inventor: Alberto Sid

Publication number: 20040196140Abstract: A controller for a serial network protocol control system is integrated with a light or other device. The controller operates in a local mode to control the integrated light only and in a remote mode to function as a serial network protocol controller for a series of connected devices. In remote mode, an IR/RF remote control is used to change settings for any device connected to the controller. The controller generates a fast serial network protocol instruction sequence, such as a DMX-512 protocol instruction sequence, from the commands received relatively slowly from the IR/RF remote control. The controller can include an hours of operation counter for the integrated light and a global setting function for changing all connected devices simultaneously to a single setting.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2004Publication date: October 7, 2004Inventor: Alberto Sid

Patent number: 6359761Abstract: A secondary ground fault protection for a high voltage power supply has a high voltage transformer with a center tapped secondary coil. The primary coil of a monitoring transformer is connected to the secondary coil at the center tap, which is approximately the midpoint of the secondary coil. The power supply load is connected across the end terminals of the secondary coil. The monitoring transformer is connected between the center tap and an earth ground on the primary coil side and between sensing circuitry and a digital ground on the secondary side. The sensing circuitry includes sub-circuits to generate various outputs which indicate the presence of faults, including a floating ground, excessive fault current or an open sensor transformer. The circuit outputs can be combined using a logical OR gate to cause specific actions in response to each detected fault, including terminating the high voltage generation in response to an excessive fault current.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2000Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Assignee: MAF Technologies, Corp.Inventor: Alberto Sid
