  • Publication number: 20240081696
Abstract: There is provided a method of taking pulse oximetry measurements, the method comprising: providing a calibration pulse-oximeter adapted to estimate one or more first, reference SpO2 values from a first, reference PPG signal measured by the pulse-oximeter on a first, reference area of the human body: and, using the same or a different calibration pulse-oximeter, estimating one or more second SpO2 values from a second PPG signal measured by said same or different calibration pulse-oximeter on a second, target area of the human body. At this point, a calibration parameter or calibration function is calculated on the basis of the one or more first, reference SpO2 values and the second SpO2 values. Then, using a measurement pulse-oximeter, a plurality of third SpO2 values is measured from the second PPG signal on the second, target area of the human body and the resulting values are calibrated using said calibration parameter or function.

  • Publication number: 20210169382
Abstract: A method of measuring blood oxygenation consists of measuring Sp02 on one or more test subjects using a first, reference pulse oximetry device (100), such as a medical-grade pulse-oximeter of the kind that employs, for example, a finger-tip clip-type probe. This can be done on each patient over relatively short time periods. Then, the Sp02 is monitored on a target subject across a relatively longer time period using a second, wearable pulse oximetry device (10) that can be worn non-intrusively by the target use, for example in the form of a bracelet. The Sp02 measured using the wearable pulse oximetry device (10), can be measured based on calibration measurements performed using the first, reference pulse oximetry device (100). In this way, the measurements produced by the wearable pulse oximetry device (10) are calibrated using a medical-grade pulse-oximeter (100).

  • Patent number: 6729623
Abstract: A sealing assembly for two relatively rotating mechanical members, e.g. the two rings of a rolling-contact bearing, and of the type incorporating a sealing ring and a magnetic ring, both integral with a rigid first shield. The first shield has a radial flange. The sealing assembly also includes a covering of elastomeric material having a base portion extending on one face of the flange. The magnetic ring has an annular surface bonded to the base portion of the covering, and projects axially from the flange. The base portion of the covering is interposed axially between the flange and the magnetic ring, and is shaped to define a deformable locating and supporting mechanism for locating and supporting the magnetic ring.

  • Patent number: 6691837
Abstract: A screw actuator comprises a nut and a screw each comprising helical grooves, said nut and screw engaging each other by rollers or balls which are in contact with said grooves, a lubricant being provided for the grooves and rollers or balls. Integrated in the actuator is a module, which is connected to at least the helical grooves of the nut and/or screw for replenishing the lubricant for the grooves and rollers or balls of the actuator.

  • Patent number: 6607059
Abstract: A screw actuator comprises a screw (1) and a nut (2) which are each provided with at least a helical groove (3,4), and a series of rollers or balls (5) which are in rolling contact with the grooves (3,4). A sleeve (6) is provided which surrounds the nut (2) at least partly. The sleeve (6) may carry a seal (7) which acts between the nut (2) and screw (1); e.g. a wiper seal. The seal (7) may be fixedly connected to the nut (2), and frictionally engage the screw (1).

  • Patent number: 6056293
Abstract: A sealing assembly for a pump shaft, having a metal supporting structure, and a sealing ring in turn having a main sealing lip and a secondary lip, which extend axially in opposite directions and define an annular cavity together with a lateral surface of the shaft. When undeformed, the diameters of the two lips are such as to respectively determine a predetermined amount of interference and a radial clearance with the shaft. The sealing ring is so formed as to be deformed elastically by the interference fit between the main lip and the shaft, so as to cause the secondary lip to cooperate with the shaft with substantially no interference.
