Abstract: In a method, system, and computer-readable medium having instructions for providing distributed customer support, a customer care provider for a first business entity receives a request for customer care and the request may be handled by the customer care provider with a remedy, transaction information involving any number of transactions from a repository is accessed using a customer care credential and the repository comprises transaction information for a second business entity, and a limitation on the customer care provider is determined for providing the remedy using the transaction information.

Abstract: The methods and systems take into account a multiplicity of approaches to reputation determination and integrates them together in a way that determines not only a reputation index but a veracity scale on which to gauge that reputation. The system proposed herein will create reputation indices based on input from other participants in the ecosystem taking into account the weighting of the value of the input of the various participants based on their credibility as applied to the judgment at hand. The system will also take into account temporal components, the historical value of the work, passive input based on usage behavior, comments by casual observers as well as independent assessment in public fora. The system is able to be applied to journalists and their work to generate a veracity scale for articles.

Abstract: A method and system for authoring, writing, filming, editing and the addition of special effects using social networks and cloud-computing and the curation, marketing and distribution of videos using the collective intelligence of large numbers of participants is described herein. Using either a public network of anonymous or semi-anonymous users or a private network of registered participants, multiple people can work on and/or curate scripts, shoot video, edit video, apply special effects or devise marketing or distribution plans. The people who work together in the creative process can be selected using historical performance data and reputation indices and may be selected from a pool of millions of potential contributors. Legal structures can be changed to automate ownership and credits. The filming, special effects and editing can all be done in the cloud by people dynamically chosen, and decisions regarding creative and technical choices can be optimized using crowd wisdom techniques.

Abstract: A media distribution system is provided in which a primary means of transport for digital media is through a device with housing shaped as an optical disc and insertable into various current and future optical disc drive devices. Media travels from different digital sources such as a personal media library and other networked resources to embedded memory on the optical disc shaped device via a capable personal computer or electronic device. This media is then able to be presented in the most appropriate format in a number of different types of current and legacy devices with optical drives such as CD audio devices and DVD players.

Abstract: A method and system for tracking and processing errors in a distributed computer system. As an application encounters an error, a centralized system intercepts and assumes the processing of that error event. The central error processing may be used with a distributed network connecting the applications running on various user computers. Upon receipt of an error message from an application, the system creates an informative error package, propagates appropriate error alert to relevant subsystems, and attempts to resolve the error. The error may be resolved in various ways. For example, the system may select and dispatch appropriate help information to the user; or the system may locate an alternative resource to substitute for the failed resource. The system may prioritize errors when there is more than one error still unresolved at any given time.
