Abstract: Apparatus for the continuous shearing off and cold swaging of metal workpieces, particularly wire material, comprises a device (1') for feeding the material (5), a pivotable shearing device (2), a slide (1) for swaging the sheared-off part, and a die-studded chuck (31). These components are arranged so that they are distributed in the machine frame (11) along the sides of a U. These components can all be driven by a motor (4) via a conventional drive. Feeding of the material (5) in the direction of the chuck (31) takes place with intermittent motion and in synchronism with the movements of the described components of the machine. The production output of finished parts is greatly increased by the chosen arrangement, the intermittent feeding of the material, and the pivotability of the cutter. The slide has a holder (37) for a plurality of tools in sockets (43, 44, 45 or 43', 45').

Abstract: The device is applicable to a cutting and pressing machine, in particular to a machine for continuous cutting and cold pressing of material supplied in the form of wire, a machine that comprises: rolls (7,7'-7",7'") for feeding of the wire (2) and a press slide (3) with press punches. The device provides that these known elements (A) are made to operate in opposition and synchronization with respect to other elements (B) which are opposite and equivalent in mass and distance of travel with respect to a common center (C). In this way a total stability of the machine is achieved with the consequent possibility of increasing the speed and therefore hourly production with respect to known machines, of pieces, such as screws, bolts and the like.

Abstract: A high speed machine for cold forging screws, rivets, and the like comprises a frame supporting a die-carrying head thereon reciprocates a punch carrying slide, shears having a fixed and a movable blade, and a bar stock shearing device including a linkage effective to transmit at least part of the movement and energy of the punch carrying slide to the movable blade and convert the reciprocating motion of the slide into a reciprocating motion of the movable blade.
