  • Publication number: 20040138359
Abstract: The invention concerns an environment-friendly composition containing (A) at least one crystalline polycaprolactone (PCL) or a mixture of such polycaprolactones and (B) at least one wax having a melting point in the region between 50° C. and 180° C. or a mixture of such waxes and (C) optional further additives. The inventive composition is characterized in that the wax of the component (B) is selected from the group of castor wax, i.e. partially or completely hardened (hydrated) castor oil and/or triglycerides of partially or completely hydrated mono-, di- and/or trihydroxy carboxylic acids and carboxylic acids and/or triglycerides of partially or completely hydroxylated di-, tri- and/or polyhydroxy carboxylic acids and carboxylic acids and/or hydroxy carboxylic acid amides and/or hydroxy carboxylic acid salts, wherein the weight ratio between the component (A) and the component (B) is in the region of between approximately 05:95 and 95:05.

  • Patent number: 5587412
Abstract: According to the present invention there is provided a composition as obtained from a melt comprising esterified starch, preferably having an amylose content of at least about 50% by weight with respect to that of the starch, and being substituted to a degree of at least about 1.5, preferably from about 1.8 to about 2.9. The starch ester may be of the kind obtained by reaction of a mixed acid anhydride with starch.

  • Patent number: 5378751
Abstract: The invention relates to thermoplastically shapeable mixtures of COOH group-containing polymers dissolvable in an aqueous neutral or aqueous-alkaline medium with fillers. Such mixtures can be processed by thermoplastic shaping to moulded articles, which are dissolvable after use. The invention also relates to suitable copolymers for this purpose and the use thereof for the production of moulded articles.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5094912
Abstract: The invention relates to an adhesive film, such as a label system or the like, formed from a film of a copolymer of acrylic and/or methacrylic acid, as well as acrylate and/or methacrylate soluble in aqueous alkali and an adhesive applied to the film and which is soluble in aqueous alkali. The adhesive film as a whole is dissolvable in the aqueous alkali and is suitable, particularly in colored printed form, for water-resistant labels, but which are easily removable in aqueous alkali. The copolymer can be recovered again from the aqueous system by a precipitation with acid.

  • Patent number: 4990146
Abstract: The invention relates to amino group-containing polymers, which are produced by the polymerization of acrylates with aminoacrylates in the forms of esters of acrylic or methacrylic acid with amino alcohols. Polymers of this type are insoluble in the neutral to basic aqueous medium, but are soluble in the acid medium. They are particularly suitable for the production of colostomy bags.
