    Abstract: A locking device for a flap or door of a motor vehicle contains, in addition to the conventional flap or door lock which is unlockable and lockable by a lock cylinder, an additional bolt acting in parallel with the lock on a closing member of the same flap or door. The bolt is prestressed by a spring in the direction of its securing position and is movable mechanically in the direction of its release position by the lock cylinder via a linkage with a free-play connection.
