  • Publication number: 20120061453
Abstract: A method for producing tailor-made sheet metal strips, in particular steel strips, in which at least two sheet metal strips of different material quality and/or sheet metal thickness are welded to one another along the longitudinal edge in a continuous process. In order for the sheet metal strips produced by such a method to exhibit a relatively high level of weld seam strength, uncoated sheet metal strips are used in accordance with the invention as sheet metal strips to be welded. The tailor-made sheet metal strip formed of the uncoated sheet metal strips as a result of welding is then coated.

  • Patent number: 7444848
Abstract: Process for manufacture of self reinforced sheets or shape parts (9) by rolling at least one metal strip (1, 2), which during roller processing is guided through a gap formed between work rollers, wherein at least in one area of the metal sheet (2) through holes (7) are introduced and the area of the metal sheet with through holes (4, 6) is brought together with an area of the same metal sheet without through holes (5) or at least one further metal sheet without through holes (1) and rolled, so that a new metal strip (1, 2), sheet or shaped part (9) is formed, as well as a sheet or shaped part obtainable by this process, wherein the sheet or shape part is comprised of two metal parts (4, 6) joined by welding or adhering, wherein at least one metal part is provided with perforations (7), which correspond to the recesses of the self reinforced structure.

  • Patent number: 6439650
Abstract: A transverse-member module for a front or rear end of a motor vehicle has a box-shaped flexible member from which protrude two deformation units which are spaced apart and parallel to each other and are intended for connection to a respective longitudinal member of a body-supporting structure of the motor vehicle. The flexible member is formed by two vertical profiles arranged spaced apart and parallel one behind the other in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle, and by at least two horizontal profiles which extend between the vertical profiles and are arranged spaced apart and parallel one above another in the vertical direction of the vehicle, the horizontal profiles being of structurally identical design.

  • Patent number: 6141935
Abstract: A structural member has in its cross-sectional plane at least two closed hollow-section chambers which are produced by rolling forming and which are made of a single sheet metal part, the at least two hollow-section chambers being provided with at least one longitudinal seam. Between the at least two hollow-section chambers, at least one intermediate web is provided which forms one piece with the walls of the hollow-section chambers. The at least one intermediate web starts out from the intermediate seam and, on the longitudinal side facing away from the longitudinal seam, is connected with an interior side of the sheet metal part.
