  • Publication number: 20060012013
Abstract: A method of forming, on a substrate, minute-sized columnar portions of a columnar structured material at minute intervals, and a columnar structured material formed by the manufacturing method. A columnar structured material is formed through an etching process in which a pattern of minute dots formed on the substrate is utilized as a mask. The pattern of the minute dots is obtained by introducing a mask material into columnar microholes of a porous film formed on the substrate and then removing the porous film. The porous film is formed by removing columnar substances from a structured material in which the columnar substances which are so formed as to contain a first component are dispersed in a matrix which is made of another component and is so formed as to contain a second component that can form a eutectic together with the first component.

  • Patent number: 6231131
Abstract: A system for retrofitting a four-valve ABS system for traction slip control. According to the present invention, only the wheel brakes associated with the driven wheels are furnished with outlet valves apart from the prevailing electromagnetically operated inlet valves. A separating valve is additionally inserted into the brake line, and a self-priming return pump is used which additionally has a suction line to the brake line between the master cylinder and the separating valve. Preferably, the suction line is adapted to be closed by a hydraulic valve. The separating valve may also be replaced by a hydraulically operated valve version. The resulting advantage is that at most four additional solenoid valves are required for the entire brake system in order to realize traction slip control.

  • Patent number: 5984651
Abstract: The present invention relates to a hydraulic brake system which operates by the feedback principle during brake slip control operations and includes a self-priming pump that aspirates pressure fluid from a pressure fluid reservoir for traction slip control operations. In order to improve the delivery rate of the pump, having a parallel arrangement of the two suction valves, a special construction of the pump-assembly is proposed, wherein the two suction valves are integrated in the pump housing. Advantageously, the suction valves are in axially opposed relationship, and the first suction valve is arranged on the movable piston, and the second suction valve is connected with a screw cap. Further, a pump for a slip-controlled hydraulic brake system according to the present invention is suggested having at least one suction valve with a valve seat, a closure member and a valve spring, the preload of the valve spring being variable in response to the position of a delivery piston.

  • Patent number: 5609182
Abstract: A valve for high-pressure radial piston pumps suitable for controlled brake systems. Prior art pumps consist of at least 5 elements. The valve includes less components and thus is less expensive to manufacture and easier to assemble. The valve's simplicity derives from the use of cold extruded connections between the valve and the housing, so that separate rubber sealings are superfluous, and which provide for a strong and non-detachable connection. Favorable embodiments of the present invention integrate some of the known valve elements thus reducing the number of the necessary cold extruded connections.
