    Abstract: On the inside of the cover for a storage battery from which liquid is to be drained when the battery is inverted and rocked from side to side upstanding ribs are disposed to concentrate and direct the liquid to the vent openings. Additional ribs may block the flow of liquid past the vent opening in one direction and, in covers where the vent openings are disposed in a recessed channel, a rib may be employed to concentrate and direct liquid over the shoulder formed by the recess when the battery is inverted.
