    Abstract: Enzymes are entrapped by preparing a polymer formulation containing cellulose triacetate and cellulose diacetate or glucose pentaacetate, adding an enzyme to the formulation, extruding the enzyme-containing formulation to form a solid matrix and soaking the solid matrix in an aqueous solution of acetone to swell and increase the permeability of the solid matrix.
