The relative position of the speaker (20) to the TV (10), or to one or more viewers of the TV (10), is detecting from a state of a physical wireless channel by means of the wireless network node(s). Based on the detected relative position, at least one corresponding surround sound channel is selected for wireless output to the speaker (20).

The apparatus vectorially determines the magnitude and phase of the frequency component of the signal from the first and second sets of samples.
