  • Patent number: 8435433
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a handle for a personal grooming device includes forming a substrate portion of a first material. The substrate portion has first and second walls forming a channel extending along a long axis of the substrate portion. An insert member is formed separate from the substrate portion and disposed within the channel. A grip portion of a second material is formed on the substrate portion. The second material substantially encases the insert member.

  • Patent number: 8061039
Abstract: A razor cartridge which has a housing with a pocket defined by a front wall and a rear wall. The pocket has a seat surface and at least one of the front and rear walls include one or more flexible segments. One or more blades are mounted within the housing. An elongated skin contacting member is provided that comprises a shaving aid composite that has one or more water-leachable shaving aid materials. The elongated skin contacting member has a body portion with an upper skin contacting surface and a base portion which is disposed at least partially within the pocket. The base portion has a bottom surface spaced apart from the seat surface. The base portion extends laterally outwardly from the body portion and is in mechanical engagement with the one or more flexible segments to secure the skin contacting member to the housing.

  • Publication number: 20110197450
Abstract: A shaving razor adapter used to attach a disposable shaving razor cartridge of a first shaving razor configuration to a shaving razor handle of a second shaving razor configuration. The shaving razor adapter comprises a first attachment portion which resembles the connecting end of the shaving razor handle of the first shaving razor configuration. The first attachment portion attaches the adapter to the shaving razor cartridge of the first shaving razor configuration. The second attachment portion of the adapter resembles the connecting member of a shaving razor cartridge of a second shaving razor configuration that interfaces with the connecting end of the handle of the second shaving razor configuration. The second attachment portion of the adapter releasably attaches the adapter to the connecting end of the shaving razor handle of the second shaving razor configuration.

  • Publication number: 20110088269
Abstract: A wet shaving razor is provided having a handle, an interconnect member and a cartridge having at least one blade for shaving. The handle has a distal gripping portion and a proximal end portion defining an open area there through. The proximal end portion of the handle has an undercut section. The interconnect member is mounted to the cartridge and includes a latch with a free end that is releasably engaged to the undercut section of the handle. The button has a distal end portion supported by the proximal end portion of the handle and a proximal end portion supported by the free end of the latch such that actuating the button deflects the free end of the latch and disengages the free end from the undercut section of the handle.
