  • Publication number: 20170077756
Abstract: An improved device and system for power transmission. A power transmission device comprises a primary winding magnetically coupled to a resonant secondary which comprises a plurality of magnetic resonators, each magnetic resonator comprising a magnetic winding. The magnetic resonators are connected in series and arranged so that the magnetic axis of each magnetic resonator is coupled to the primary winding. In operation, a power source supplies alternating current at an operating frequency to the primary of a power transmission device used as a transmitter. A load is coupled to the primary of a power transmission device used as a receiver. Collectors may be coupled to either or both of the transmit or receive device. A return line may be coupled to either or both of the transmit or receive device.

  • Publication number: 20170059365
Abstract: A device and system for sensing disturbance in a field. A sensor system comprises an RF power source coupled to one or more emitters producing a field. Measuring the coupling between the source and the emitters for example by measuring forward and/or reverse power allows disturbances caused by objects in the field to be detected. Sweeping the operating frequency of the rf source over a frequency range, or making measurements at frequencies within such a range provides for further characterization of any objects within the field. Placing emitters within a structure allows for characterization of the contents of the structure and detection of changes from such characterization.

  • Publication number: 20170063432
Abstract: A device and system for data transmission. A data transmission system comprises an RF power source coupled to one or more emitters producing a field which transfers power to one or more sinks. A sink comprises one or more collectors coupled to a resonator, which couples RF power from the collectors and resonator to harvesting electronics. Data modulated on the RF source is transferred to the harvesting electronics in the sink where the modulated RF is decoded into data. Known modulation techniques may be used. Power and data may be provided by the source to the sinks. Load modulation may be used by a sink to transfer data to the source or to other sinks. Emitters and collectors may be capacitively coupled, or coupled through a conductive path. Coupling may include a ground path. Charge mobility elements may be used with emitters and/or collectors.

A power transmission system comprises an RF power source coupled to one or more emitters producing a field which transfers power to one or more sinks. A sink comprises one or more collectors coupled to a resonator, which couples RF power from the collectors and resonator to harvesting electronics which convert the RF power to direct current to power a load. Emitters coupled to the source produce a field which is harvested by the sink and converted to DC for a load. Emitters and collectors may be capacitively coupled, or coupled through a conductive path. Coupling may include a ground path. Charge mobility elements may be used with emitters and/or collectors.
