  • Patent number: 4132258
Abstract: A pneumatic spacer and cushioning tire assembly, having an armored peripheral track fitted thereto is provided for use on construction and earthworking equipment. The track assembly has a belt of elastomer insulated inextensible filaments constrained between anchor plates and traction plates. The interior surface of the track assembly prevents movement between the track and the tire.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 14, 1977
Date of Patent: January 2, 1979
    Assignee: International Harvester Company
    Inventors: Aleksandar Vidakovic, Karl Salna
  • Patent number: 4066047
Abstract: A toroidal heat exchanger incorporates an air flow directing support cone housing a hydraulic motor used for driving an air propelling means at variable speeds depending on the cooling requirements of the host vehicle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 19, 1976
Date of Patent: January 3, 1978
    Assignee: International Harvester Company
Inventors: Aleksandar Vidakovic, Stanley Urman, Donald F. Rudny
  • Patent number: 4043609
Abstract: A pneumatic spacer and cushioning tire assembly, having an armored peripheral track fitted thereto is provided for use on construction and earthworking equipment. The track assembly has a non-uniform cross section tapered belt of elastomer insulated inextensible filaments constrained between anchor plates and traction plates.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 6, 1975
Date of Patent: August 23, 1977
    Assignee: International Harvester Company
    Inventors: Aleksandar Vidakovic, Karl Salna
  • Patent number: 4013112
Abstract: A pneumatic spacer and cushioning tire assembly is provided with a carcass component and a tread section component. A plurality of anchor plates are molded into the tire carcass in the crown section thereof. The anchor plates are further retained in position on the tire carcass by an elastomer insulated inextensible filament reinforced ply composed of a plurality of inextensible filaments which comprise a portion of the tread section component. The anchor plates are equipped with fastener receiving means which are provided to allow the fastening of traction plates to the anchor plates. Traction plates, once attached firmly to the anchor plates, protect the tire from damage as well as providing increased traction. The complete tire assembly provides an armored resilient ground engaging unit for use on construction equipment.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 2, 1975
Date of Patent: March 22, 1977
    Assignee: International Harvester Company
