  • Patent number: 10923876
Abstract: A heat exchanger configured to cool an energy output device, and systems, devices, and methods thereof, can comprise a heat exchanger housing and an internal chamber defined in the housing that is configured to be filled with a phase-change material (PCM). The internal chamber can be provided at a first predetermined level inside the housing relative to the top surface of the housing and can extend under a first predetermined portion of the top surface of the housing. The internal chamber can include a plurality of PCM channels configured to be filled with the PCM and to accommodate phase changes of the PCM in multiple phase-change directions. Optionally, the plurality of PCM channels can be defined by a plurality of fins and/or the internal chamber can be accessible to outside the housing via at least one PCM interface configured to receive and pass therethrough the PCM.

  • Patent number: 10777966
Abstract: An apparatus that includes a plurality of heat sources; a heat sink coupled to the plurality of heat sources; a heat-exchange-fluid flow path for heat-exchange fluid to flow through such that heat is removed from the heat sink, wherein the flow path includes: a heat-exchange-fluid inlet, a first branch that includes a plurality of segments including a first and second segment, wherein each of the plurality of segments includes an upstream end and a downstream end, wherein a first portion of the heat-exchange fluid flows through the first segment in a first direction and the first portion of the heat-exchange fluid flows through the second segment in a second direction, opposite the first direction, and a second branch, wherein a second portion of the heat-exchange fluid flows through the second branch such that the second portion of the heat-exchange fluid mixes with the downstream end of the second segment.

  • Patent number: 10253747
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for generating and storing energy from water waves. Oscillatory motions of a floating base are transmitted to adjustable weights enclosed in a container suspended from a frame that is rigidly installed inside the floating base. The container is operably coupled to a sheave, via a crank. The movement of the adjustable weights in the container results in the movement of a sheave that is operably coupled to an output shaft that is in turn coupled to an electric generator via a network of gears. The generator supplies power to an electrolyzer producing hydrogen and oxygen from water. The hydrogen and oxygen are compressed into gas or liquid and stored in containers on-board the floating base, until they are off-loaded at a facility.

  • Patent number: 8493651
Abstract: An apparatus and method that provides management and cooling of an optical fiber by looping the optical fiber around the inner surface of a heat-conductive cylinder and around the outer surface of the heat-conductive cylinder, such that the optical fiber enters and exits the heat-conductive cylinder on substantially the same plane. Some embodiments use a continuous groove on the inside and outside of the cylinder for guiding and managing the optical fiber. Some embodiments use a plurality of protruding fiber guides for guiding and managing the optical fiber. Some embodiments use an integrated tube for guiding and managing the optical fiber. In some embodiments, the optical fiber looped on the inner surface and outer surface are spaced apart substantially equally. In some other embodiments, the optical fiber loops are spaced further apart for portions of the fiber carrying higher power.
