Abstract: An energy dissipation system for structural protection of buildings includes at least one structure with a base, a second base fixed to the ground, an energy dissipation device, and a lever mechanism. The structure opposes seismic actions by translating horizontal displacement into vertical displacement. The lever mechanism amplifies displacement of the energy dissipation device in response to vertical displacement of the structure.

Abstract: A structural protection system of buildings is described, comprising at least one bearing structure (2) connected with at least one wall of said building (E). The bearing structure (2) is rigidly connected to the wall of the building (E) and the bearing structure (2) is a specialized structure comprising an energy dissipation device (1) adapted to dissipate the energy generated by the oscillations of the bearing structure due to earth tremor.

Abstract: A process is described for the preparation of polydienes with a low vinyl content and having a branched structure effected by means of the polymerization of conjugated dienes in the presence of catalysts based on rare-earth compounds. The resulting polymers are characterized in that they have a cis content varying from 80 to 96% and prove to be branched with consequent low viscosity values in solution.

Abstract: Complexes of lanthanides are described, which are effective in the polymerization of conjugated dienes, obtained by reacting LnX.sub.3 with at least one Lithium compound selected from:(i) Li(A), the molar ratio Li(A)/LnX.sub.3 being from 1.5 to 2.5;(ii) LiLn(A).sub.4, the molar ratio between LiLn(A).sub.4 and LnX.sub.3 being from 0.5 to 1.5;wherein Ln is selected from any of the Lanthanides; X is selected from halides, carboxylates, alcoholates, --N(R.sub.x) (R.sub.y) wherein R.sub.x and R.sub.y, the same or different, are C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl radicals;A is an allyl radical having the general formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.5, the same or different, are selected from hydrogen and C.sub.1 -C.sub.10 alkyl radicals.
