  • Publication number: 20200026769
Abstract: An approach is provided to present controlled heterogeneous digital content to users. The approach receives topics corresponding to content items that were previously accessed by a user, such as having been watched by the user on a display device. Opposing topics are associated to the identified topics with each of the opposing topics being opposite to the corresponding topic. A user position score is calculated based upon at least some of the opposing topics. This position score is used to identify content recommendations which are then presented to the user.

  • Publication number: 20190340647
Abstract: An image captured at a first moment in time is received. A user is identified by comparing at least one facial feature extracted from the image with user information stored in a database. It is determined whether the user observed a visual display by determining whether the visual display was within the visual field of the user. Upon determining that the user observed the visual display, the image is processed with a sentiment analysis module to determine a sentiment of the user. Further, it is determined, based on a record stored in a transaction database, that the user purchased the first product at a second moment in time, and an engagement index is generated for the visual display based on processing the determined sentiment of the user and a period of elapsed time between the second moment in time and the first moment in time.

  • Publication number: 20190245768
Abstract: A method and system or monitoring a resource consumption of an application running on a computer. A first metric describes the resource consumption of the application as a first function of time. A wavelet analysis of the first function of time is performed. A discontinuity in the first function is detected at a first time at which a coefficient determined from the wavelet analysis exceeds a specified threshold. A cross-correlation of the first metric and a second metric describing the resource consumption of the application as a second function of time are calculated. A diagnostic level associated with the discontinuity in the first function is adjusted based on the calculated cross-correlation. In response to adjusting the diagnostic level, a debugging function on the application is started in response to the cross correlation having a value indicative of an anomaly within the application.

  • Publication number: 20190236457
Abstract: Enhancement of a first mind map to become a second enhanced mind includes: providing a content pool with information items; performing a first semantic scan based on a selected object; and generating a new object and a related connection to the selected objectbased on the semantic scan. Furthermore, the enhancement includes determining a strength value for each of the connections of the first mind map and determining the connection withthe lowest strength value and recalculating the strength value using an external knowledge base to define the connection as obsolete if the strength value decreases.

  • Publication number: 20190220545
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, computer program product, and system for determining a veridicality metric of a user profile stored in an electronic information system. The method, computer program product and computer system may include a computing device that inputs an identifier of a user profile and retrieves from an information system at least one element of the user profile based on the identifier. The computing device may submit a search request to at least one further information system. The search request may include a search criterion with at least a part of the element. The computing device may receive at least one search result related to the search request, and determine the veridicality metric based on the at least one element and the at least one search result.

  • Patent number: 10348604
Abstract: A method and system for monitoring a resource consumption of an application running on a computer. A first metric describing the resource consumption of the application as a first function of time is tracked. A wavelet analysis of the first function is performed and a discontinuity is detected in the first function at a first time at which a coefficient determined from the wavelet analysis exceeds a specified threshold. The coefficient is indexed on a dilation parameter and a time offset parameter.

  • Patent number: 10318108
Abstract: A method, system and program product for analyzing textual information and providing a visual representative of a summary of such textual information in the form of a ranked list of icons. A text to icon engine is used that takes as input a textual document. A plurality of icons are each associated to a specific rule such that when the text to icon engine processes textual input, it will apply the rules associated with the icons and return a value that represents how much the text belongs to a specific icon.

  • Publication number: 20190050837
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method for controlling access to a group of points of sale. A database is provided. The database comprises behavioral data of a plurality of users in association with facial identities of the users. The behavioral data of a user indicates one or more products and behaviors of the user toward the one or more products. The method comprises: determining a facial identity of a given user using a predefined facial recognition method. The behavioral data associated with the determined facial identity may be read from the database. Points of sale of the group points of sale that correspond to the products indicated in the read behavioral data may be selected.

  • Patent number: 10171397
Abstract: A method includes intercepting a message sent from a computing machine of a first user to at least one second user, analyzing a content of the message to identify each matching context of one or more known contexts matching the content of the message, generating at least one shared entry for each matching context according to information corresponding to the matching context extracted from the message, and submitting each shared entry for publication to at least one collaborative system corresponding to the matching context of the shared entry.

  • Publication number: 20180039644
Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for distributing online content (e.g., news articles, blog posts, and the like) to a social media provider at a point in time determined based on topic maturity. One or more metrics are obtained from each of a plurality of social media providers. The metrics relate to a topic associated with a document for publishing on the social media providers. A measure is determined for each of the social media providers. The measure indicates when to publish the document on the social media provider based on the metrics associated with that provider. Upon determining that the measure exceeds a threshold for at least one of the social media providers, the document is published to the social media provider.

  • Patent number: 9780968
Abstract: A sender telephone receives a text message to send to a receiver telephone. The sender telephone determines the transmission delay time by sending a predetermined message to receiver telephone, based on the time it receives an address complete message and a release message. The sender telephone determines a constant value that is greater than the transmission delay time and in response to the determining the constant value, ringing the receiver telephone to transmit the received inputted text message. A receiver telephone receives a predetermined message from a caller telephone to determine a transmission delay time, based on the time it receives the address complete message and a release message. The receiver telephone determines a constant value that is greater than the transmission delay time. The receiver telephone receives incoming rings from the caller telephone and converts the received rings into a text message to be displayed.

  • Patent number: 9774605
Abstract: Controlling access to a computing system. An escalation request is received for performing a protected activity on the computing system by a user not authorized to perform the protected activity. At least one activity indicator being indicative of a skill required to perform the protected activity is retrieved. At least one user indicator being indicative of the skill possessed by the user is retrieved. An indication of a capability of the user to perform the protected activity according to a comparison between the at least one activity indicator and the at least one user indicator is determined. A temporary authorization for performing the protected activity to the user according to the capability thereof is granted or denied. The temporary authorization lasts for a limited time window.
