Publication number: 20240084202Abstract: An emergency distillation column (2) is disclosed, connected to a plant wherein a main distillation column (1) is present. Such connection occurs by means of by-pass of the pipes which supply said main column, which by-pass has stopping means of the liquid which allow the supply of said emergency column when the pressure drops downstream of the main column exceed a preset threshold value. Preferably, said stopping means are shut-off valves (28; 33; 35). A process of use of a column (2) is furthermore described as in any one of the preceding claims wherein the pressure difference between inflow and outflow of the liquid being distilled is measured continuously and compared against a dedicated threshold. Finally, a plant for the regeneration of waste oils is disclosed, comprising a distillation column, which furthermore comprises an emergency distillation column (2), as previously defined.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 20, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Francesco Gallo, Oscar Pelis, Alessandro Quaglia, Aldo Roldi

Publication number: 20230117443Abstract: An exemplary hearing device is configured to receive, from a source, a data packet, the data packet including a plurality of frames including a first frame and a second frame. The hearing device determines that the data packet has an invalid checksum. The hearing device accesses, in response to the determining that the data packet has the invalid checksum, a first frame checksum for the first frame and a second frame checksum for the second frame. The hearing device determines that the first frame checksum is invalid and that the second frame checksum is valid. The hearing device discards, based on the first frame checksum being invalid, the first frame and stores, based on the second frame checksum being valid, the second frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2020Publication date: April 20, 2023Inventors: Alessandro Gallo, Federico Ferrari

Publication number: 20230084332Abstract: An exemplary hearing device is configured to concurrently maintain a first link with a source and a second link with a second hearing device. The hearing device scans, while not receiving data via the first link, the second link for a preamble of a binaural data packet for a first time period. Based on whether the preamble is detected, the hearing device selectively: receives the binaural data packet and ignores the first link while receiving the binaural data packet if the preamble of the binaural data packet is detected during he first time period; and scans the first link for a preamble of a data packet for a second time period if the preamble of the binaural data packet is not detected during the first time period.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2020Publication date: March 16, 2023Inventor: Alessandro Gallo

Publication number: 20230070864Abstract: An exemplary hearing device is configured to receive, from a source, sequential data packets each identified by a sequence number. The hearing device receives, from an additional hearing device configured to also receive the sequential data packets, a first particular sequence number indicating a last of the sequential data packets received without discontinuity by the additional hearing device. The hearing device selectively transmits, based on the first particular sequence number and to the additional hearing device, a data packet included in the sequential data packets received from the source, the data packet identified by a sequence number that is based on the first particular sequence number.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2020Publication date: March 9, 2023Inventors: Alessandro Gallo, Amre El-Hoiydi, Federico Ferrari

Patent number: 11371420Abstract: A cooling arrangement for cooling charge air of a supercharged internal combustion engine. In a charge-air line that leads to the internal combustion engine, there are provided a compressor arrangement, which has at least one compressor stage, and an expansion arrangement, which has at least one expansion stage for lowering the pressure level and thus for cooling the charge air. A cooling device is provided between the compressor arrangement and the expansion arrangement. The at least one compressor stage and the at least one expansion stage are connected in series and are respectively connected in terms of drive to an electric motor. The compressor arrangement has at least two compressor stages connected in parallel.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2021Date of Patent: June 28, 2022Inventors: Werner Verdoorn, Vincenzo Bevilacqua, Alessandro Gallo, Wolfgang Zücker, Peter Rothenberger

Patent number: 11083031Abstract: Provided is a method for operating two hearing devices. The method includes establishing a first bi-directional wireless connection between a primary hearing device and a wireless communication device over a first wireless link, eavesdropping on the first wireless link, by a secondary hearing device, over a second wireless link between the wireless communication device and the secondary hearing device, and establishing a second bi-directional wireless connection between the primary hearing device and the secondary hearing device over a third wireless link. The method further includes monitoring the link quality of the first wireless link and/or the second wireless link, and assigning to either the secondary hearing device or the primary hearing device the role of transmitting audio-related packets towards the wireless communication device, based on the quality of at least one of the first wireless link or the second wireless link. An audio communication system is also provided.Type: GrantFiled: March 30, 2020Date of Patent: August 3, 2021Assignee: SONOVA AGInventors: Federico Ferrari, Amre El-Hoiydi, Alessandro Gallo

Patent number: 10623872Abstract: A hearing system includes first and second hearing devices. The first hearing device is configured to render streaming audio from an audio source by establishing a wireless link with the audio source and receiving audio packets transmitted from the audio source over the wireless link in accordance with an acknowledgement-based transmission protocol. The second hearing device is configured to render the streaming audio from the audio source by eavesdropping on the wireless link to receive and store the audio packets in a buffer. The buffer has a playback duration based on a total number of audio packets currently stored in the buffer. To stop the second hearing device from rendering the streaming audio, the first hearing device abstains, for a time period at least equal to the playback duration of the buffer, from acknowledging successful receipt of an audio packet transmitted by the audio source over the wireless link.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2018Date of Patent: April 14, 2020Assignee: Sonova AGInventors: Alessandro Gallo, Federico Ferrari

Patent number: 10534573Abstract: Systems, methods and software for sample rate conversion with unknown input and output clocks are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for an asynchronous transfer of audio data includes: receiving the audio data by an antenna of a receiver (RX); storing the audio data in an input buffer of the RX; and receiving data words from the input buffer by a sample rate converter (SRC). The consecutive data words are received from the input buffer at an adjustable period T. The method further includes tracking a filling level of the input buffer; and based on the filling level of the input buffer, adjusting the adjustable period T. When the filling level of the input buffer is below the target level of the input buffer, the adjustable period T is increased. When the filling level of the input buffer is above the target level of the input buffer, the adjustable period T is decreased.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 2018Date of Patent: January 14, 2020Assignee: Sonova AGInventors: Amre El-Hoiydi, Timothee Jost, Till Schmalmack, Jordi Hidalgo, Alessandro Gallo
