  • Patent number: 11399893
Abstract: A rotational position determination apparatus is configured to determine an entry rotational position, which defines a rotational position of an insertion device like a stent at an entry site, such that a navigation of the insertion device from the entry site to a target site along an inner path results in a rotational position of the insertion device at the target site being equal to a desired target rotational position based on a representation of the inner path and the desired target rotational position. If the insertion device is arranged in the determined entry rotational position at the entry site and then navigated to the target site, it is therefore not necessary to rotate the insertion device at the target site.

  • Patent number: 10410342
Abstract: An image processing method and related system to register projection images (AG, MI) only with respect to a motion of a landmark across said images. The motion of the landmark relates to a motion of a region of interest, ROI. The so registered images (AG, MI) are then subtracted from each other to arrive at a difference image that is locally motion compensated and that represents the ROI at good contrast while subtraction artifacts can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 9839482
Abstract: A tumor targeting ablation planning device and method include providing a predetermined ablation profile and a segmented tumor to be treated in an ablation procedure. A contour of the segmented tumor is generated and the predetermined ablation profile is overlapped with a part of the segmented tumor to form an overlapping region, which is identified. Further, a predetermined safety factor is applied to at least a part of the at least one segmented tumor in the overlapping region to generate a modified overlapping region. Parts of the overlapping region that are arranged outside the modified overlapping region are determined as overlapping portions. A display is configured to: display the contour of the segmented tumor, display the predetermined ablation profile overlapped with the at least part of the segmented tumor in the overlapping region, and display the overlapping portions in relation with the contour and the ablation profile as virtual planning ablation result.

  • Publication number: 20150011875
Abstract: A system (100) includes a CT scanner (101) with a radiation source (108) that emits radiation the traverses an examination region (112), a radiation sensitive detector array (110), located opposite the source across the examination region, which detects radiation traversing the examination region and a portion of a subject therein and generates a signal indicative thereof, and a subject support (114) that positions the subject in the examination. A HIFU apparatus (124) includes an ultrasound probe (126). A main controller (142) controls an operation of both the CT scanner and the HIFU apparatus. A treatment navigator (140) visually presents, in a graphical user interface, CT data of a location of the ultrasound probe with respect to at least one fiducial marker of the HIFU apparatus and obtained by the CT scanner overlaid over a previously generated HIFU procedure plan.

  • Publication number: 20140296704
Abstract: The invention relates to a rotational position determination apparatus (15) for determining an entry rotational position, which defines a rotational position of an insertion device like a stent at an entry site (5), such that a navigation of the insertion device from the entry site to a target site (6) along an inner path (8) results in a rotational position of the insertion device at the target site being equal to a desired target rotational position based on a representation of the inner path and the desired target rotational position. If the insertion device is arranged in the determined entry rotational position at the entry site and then navigated to the target site, it is therefore not necessary to rotate the insertion device at the target site, i.e. it is not necessary to use a technically complex interventional device for rotating the insertion device at the target site.

  • Publication number: 20140228835
Abstract: The present invention relates to tumour targeting ablation planning. As a facilitated and improved image-based planning method, a method (100) for tumour targeting ablation planning is provided: At least one segmented tumour in a 3D data set (112) to be treated in an ablation procedure is provided (110). A contour (116) of the segmented tumour is generated and displayed (114). A predetermined ablation profile (120) to overlap with at least a part of the at least one segmented tumour is provided and displayed (118). An overlapping region (124) is identified (122) and a predetermined safety factor (128) is applied (126) to at least a part of the overlapping region to generate (130) a modified overlapping region (132). Parts of the overlapping region arranged outside the modified overlapping region are then determined (134) as critical overlapping portions (136). The critical overlapping portions are displayed (138) in relation with the contour and the ablation profile as virtual planning ablation result (140).
