Abstract: Process for the preparation of halogenated polyethers of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein X=Cl or F, R.sub.F and R'.sub.F either equal to or different from each other, are selected from fluorinated alkyl radicals with from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, cycloalkyl, heterocyclic, alkylcycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkyl radicals, having from 5 to 20 carbon atoms, said radicals possibly containing also other halogen atoms different from fluorine and possibly ethereal oxygen atoms, by reaction with a fluoroxy or chloroxy compound of the formula: R'.sub.F OX with a fluorovinylether of the general formula: R.sub.F O--CF.dbd.CF.sub.2.

Abstract: A process for preparing fluorinated compounds belonging to the classes:XH--Y--CZ.sub.1 Z.sub.2 --(CF.sub.2).sub.n F (I)andYH--X--(CF.sub.2).sub.n --CZ.sub.1 Z.sub.2 F (II)wherein:X is NR.sub.x, O, S, CFR.sub.x, C(R.sub.x).sub.2, or CF.sub.2 ;Y is NR.sub.x, O, S, CFR.sub.x, C(R.sub.x).sub.2, or CF.sub.2 ;X is different from Y;R.sub.x is a perhalogenated alkyl group, containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms;n is either 0 or 1;Z.sub.1 and Z.sub.2, which may be either equal to, or different from, each other, represent F, Cl, Br, H or R.sub.x.The process is characterized in that a fluorinated cyclic compound of the formula: ##STR1## is reacted, at a temperature within the range of from -80.degree. to +300.degree., with HF in the presence of a Lewis acid. Some of the so-obtained compounds per se are novel.

Abstract: By reacting 3,3,4,4-tetrafluoro-2-(trifluoromethyl)-1,2-oxazetidine (I) with a Lewis acid, in particular SbF.sub.5, three novel fluorinated compounds (II), (III) and (IV) are obtained: ##STR1## The compounds are useful as lubricants.

Abstract: Process for the preparation of (2,2)-paracyclophane or derivatives thereof by the Hofmann elimination of p-methylbenzyl-trimethylammonium hydroxide or derivatives thereof, in an aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide, wherein said elimination is carried out in the presence of a compound of the formula (I):Y--A--(X).sub.n (I)wherein A represents an aromatic group, Y an electron donor group, X an electron acceptor group, and n is an integer from 1 to 3.

Abstract: Mono- and bis-hypofluorites respectively of formula: FO.sub.2 S--R.sub.f --CF.sub.2 OF and FOCF.sub.2 --R'.sub.f --CF.sub.2 OF wherein R.sub.f is perfluoroalkylene or perfluorochloroalkylene and R'.sub.f is a perfluoroalkylene or perfluorooxyalkylene, and process for preparing them, which is conducted continuously, at a temperature from 0.degree. to 60.degree. C. and comprises starting from the respective acyl fluorides ##STR1## by reaction of fluorine in the gas phase in the presence of a catalyst consisting of K, Rb, Cs or Ba fluoride, preferably supported on a metal material.

Abstract: Process for the preparation of (2,2)-paracyclophane or derivatives thereof by the Hofmann elimination of p-methylbenzyltrimethylammonium hydroxide or derivatives thereof, in an aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide, wherein said elimination is carried out in the presence of a dialkylether of mono- and poly-ethylene glycols having the formula:R--O--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 O--.sub.n R' (I)wherein R and R', which may be the same or different, represent alkyl groups having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and n is an integer from 1 to 5.

Abstract: There is disclosed a process for the preparation of halogenated (2,2)-paracyclophanes by Hofmann elimination, in an alkaline medium, from p.methylbenzyltrimethylammonium hydroxide halogen-substituted in the nucleus.
