Publication number: 20230002289Abstract: The present invention concerns a method for modifying the properties of the surface (F) of a material. The method comprises the following steps: preparing a first layer (12; 12) comprising an electrically conductive material suited to serve the function of a cathode, a second layer (14) comprising an electrically conductive material suited to serve the function of an anode and an intermediate layer (16) suited to become impregnated with an electrolyte in the liquid phase or to regulate its flow between said cathode and said anode; associating an electrolyte in the liquid phase with one or more of said layers (12, 14, 16); positioning the anode or the cathode on the surface (F) to be treated; supplying power to the cathode and the anode in order to activate the electrochemical process of the electrolyte in the liquid phase for a predetermined time interval.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 28, 2020Publication date: January 5, 2023Applicant: R. Publication number: 20140197518Abstract: A semiconductor device includes a capacitor formed in a semiconductor substrate of a first conductivity type. The capacitor includes: a heavily-doped layer of a second conductivity type placed over the substrate, a first insulating layer placed over the heavily-doped layer of the second conductivity type, and a first metal layer placed over the first insulating layer. The semiconductor device further includes comprises a second insulating layer deposited over the capacitor and at least one resistor formed over the second insulating layer. The resistor includes a layer of a resistive material region arranged between two regions of a second metal layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 14, 2014Publication date: July 17, 2014Applicant: STMicroelectronics S.r.l.Inventors: Vittorio Giuseppe Maiorana, Alessandro Rizzo

Patent number: 6842745Abstract: A chaotic signal generator includes a set of elements connected together for generating chaotic signals. The connection scheme may correspond to the circuit generally referred to as Chua's circuit, particularly when implemented as a cellular neural network. Interposed in the connection scheme is at least one switch, such as a MOS transistor. Opening and closing of the switch causes variation in the chaotic dynamics of the generated signals. A command signal applied to the switch may correspond to a modulating signal for transmission on a channel, such as a high noise channel. The modulating signal may be a binary signal, and the command signal may be a switching signal having a frequency that increases or decreases depending on the logic level of the binary signal.Type: GrantFiled: January 9, 2002Date of Patent: January 11, 2005Assignee: STMicroelectronics S.r.l.Inventors: Luigi Occhipinti, Luigi Fortuna, Alessandro Rizzo, Mattia Frasca

Patent number: 6738313Abstract: A system for detecting distances for vehicle and robotic applications includes a transducer for generating a transmission signal to be sent in the direction of an obstacle, and for obtaining a receiving signal corresponding to an echo produced by the reflection of the transmission signal off the obstacle. The transducer is driven by a chaos generator, such as a Chua's circuit. The system also includes a correlator for correlating the transmission signal and the receiving signal so that the distance between the obstacle and the transducer is identified by an instant at which the correlation assumes a high value. The transmission signal may be a square-wave signal selectively generated with one first frequency and one second frequency, and jumps between the two frequencies are determined by the instants of emission of the pulses generated by an analog type pulse generator driven by the chaos generator.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2002Date of Patent: May 18, 2004Assignee: STMicroelectronics S.r.l.Inventors: Luigi Fortuna, Alessandro Rizzo, Mattia Frasca, Marco Branciforte, Marco Bartolone
